I always like to test new content - i decided to hunt the new NEXUS Chip for max. 3 Days

to prevent possible shitposts:

PATCH NOTES:
Quote:
These new Nexus chips have a chance to drop from ‘Sentient’ Rogue Drones, which can be found in Rogue Drone cosmic anomalies or asteroid belts in Drone controlled regions

CCP RISE:
Quote:
The drop chance is modeled on the drop chance in other factions for ship BPCs (Serpentis/Guristas/etc), I'll be watching to see what kind of impact this has on the price and if we need to tune the drop chance up we'll do that.[/b]

Not surprised. I'm guessing the drone sites will still be considered garbage for quite a while, and the beneficiaries of this will be the rare lucky miner in a belt and newbies who don't know any better.

I recall this statement, and I've figured this whole time that rogue drone sites would be more or less just as worthless as before (aside from ratting in actual drone space). Its been amusing watching people get excited about adding 1 decent thing to their crappy loot table.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

Let someone else find the chips, then gank them.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

I tend to kill a looooot of Dread Guristas frigates before I get a Worm BPC to drop. But in the mean time there is a chance for low grade crystal implants, DG co-processors, ballistic controls, scrams, webs, shield boost amps...

So still no point in wasting time with drone sites. At least not hisec ones. Lowsec rated DEDs tend to drop cruiser BPCs pretty regularly for me though... but, again, they also drop additional goodies that drones do not.

Basically this.

Any other NPC faction is still more profitable to shoot at if you have a choice.

CCP, breaking things since 2003....
After all these years of watching CCP screw up patch after patch, I have to wonder if any of them could ever earn a living coding out in the real world.

BPC drops in general from commander spawns are fairly uncommon.

I don't have an exact figure, but I estimate I get one every 10-15 commander cruisers, much, much less for battleships. Out of the last 140 or so commander battleships I've killed none dropped a BPC.

That is to say, your data set is really small.

This.

I sometimes camp lowsec routes to CONCORD stations and gank people who are full of Sec tags. Who knew the best way to get your sec up after lots of ganking....was to do more ganking!

Ganking...is there anything that it cant do?

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Last I checked ganking won't make me breakfast, unless I RMT the isk to buy McDonalds, but then I need to gank more to pay for the medical bills. The cycle never ends!

Gank a freighter full of PLEX, never pay for sub again, use money you used to pay for sub with to buy breakfast and pay medical bills.

Regardless of whether the Nexus chips ever actually drop in significant numbers ... or at all ... the threat of them being out there has forced Astero prices down by 20-30% :D

So the tactic did work.

The drop change of the bpc's are based on the tier of the sentient / commander npc. Your experiment has limited to hierachy's, radiances and independances. Please note that the base sig's of them are rly big and fall in the range of easy npc complexes like "bases" and such and most sentient drones in them are lower tiers with a low drop chance. Therefor you are drawing the wrong conclusions.
