Hello everyone,

I have just recently collected the essentials for making a moon colony and I have been checking out the low sec locations in and around the Essence area. Most of the moons already have colonies and the only ones that don't have no minerals or very few and worthless ones. If anyone knows some regions that may be profitable please say so.

Also tips would be appreciated!
Big smile

Sincerely,

Pfff......hehehe, nice one.

In all seriously though, a valuable moon that can be mined is something that is jealously guarded and defended, and in the very very rare chance that someone knows of a lowsec moon with a valuable moon mineral that's available for the taking, they sure as hell won't be telling anyone without a large payment in return.

After a reseeding of some new R64 moons a while back, the major powerblocks went ahead and scanned everything again, to add to their internal records and to get towers on the new money moons.

TLDR: Any moon worth mining for the sake of mining is long since occupied, and you won't be getting your hands on it without a large payment, a large fleet, or a large number of friends.

What are the essentials for making a moon colony?

If you have luck youll find a gas moon which is worth almost nothing, like the poster above said all the good moons are taken already.

Reacting pays pretty decently.

If you can mine some of the basic materials it pays even better.

May I suggest you not dredge up threads a few days past being a month since the last post?

Moons don't have colonies. Planets do, and planets don't have a limit on the number of colonies.

Moons are harvested with moon harvesters anchored as part of a POS (player owned starbase). There can only be one POS per moon. Moon havesting can only be done in 0.3 sec and lower, and not in w-space.

Moons with materials for making something more valuable than carbides are likely to have a POS harvesting them. The more valuable the moon, the more likely a fleet will come to defend or conquer it.

It isn't unusual to harvest a garbage moon (like Atmospheric Gasses) if the POS is only used as a staging or rally point, as what little value is harvested may help to offset fuel costs a little.
