Body hair removal

Shaving won't cut it anymore. It always ends in razor bumps and hair that looks like it was never cut in the first place.

I want to take it out at the roots. Waxing, sugaring - something like that.

I recently tried waxing strips and they were so ineffective it was almost funny.

Trying to decide on a method. What would you recommend? Also, what post-treatments should I do to prevent my body from turning into a giant rash?

Right now, epilation looks appealing. I have a pretty high threshold for pain as well.

Look at my sig, my sig is amazing

As a gay man, I find men who remove it all are just to femme for my taste at that point. The young guys these days all look like Ken dolls or something.

Ugh.

But good luck. I guess. You seem to be aware of every technique possible already. Not sure what else can be contributed.

What's wrong with looking smooth as an android's bottom? I think most body hair is ugly. I can get used to it but I don't think I'll ever mind it being gone on myself or anyone else.

As for recommending methods of hair removal, we need to know why waxing didn't work for you. Waxing works great for me (when I actually do it) except it isn't good for removing pudic hair. Some people can have pubic hair removed with wax but I'm not one of them.

Waxing tends to work best on skin that is smooth and firm. Very soft skin has trouble with it and can get welts or worse, tear right open. Most young people can wax just fine. It usually bleeds a little but that's just fromt he force of the hairs being pulled out.

Shaving also tends to work best on people with smooth and firm skin, though with a gentle shaver you can shave across very soft skin if it is sharp enough. Tough skin can be shaved as long as it is not bumpy. Bumps get caught in the razor too easily.

Nair doesn't pull on your skin, it just softens hair until it breaks right off. You gotta be careful with that stuff, it'll leave clumps of stuff-that-used-to-be-hair on you and it wont come off with more nair because it isn't hair anymore. Also I'm sure it's terrible for the environment, and probably not healthy to use over and over again.

A hair clipper works well for longer hair but usually isn't good at getting the last bits. No good for a close shave, but you can get a close shave with a different tool if you first use the clipper to get it short. The clipper works on softer skin than you might think--it's more frightening than it is dangerous. I can't cut my pubic hair with much of anything due to how soft and uneven the skin is, but I can cut it with a hair clipper.

An electric razor is good for any skin but may be most popular for rough skin. It wont cut as close to the surface as an open razor will, but it also won't irritate the skin or pick off bits that stick up. If you have a tendency to get ingrown hairs, an electric razor is a good option because it'll leave some hair past the top of the skin. If you cut the hair level to the skin, that's how you get ingrown hairs. Also, electric razors can pull on your hair a bit even when they are sharp. It's mildly annoying but you get used to it. Maybe more expensive brands don't do that.

And lastly, you can always cut hair with scissors. They're probably one of the least effective tools for cutting hair short, but are useful for styling longer hair and can be good if you just can't find a decent method to get it short anyway.

Hope something there helps you.

edit: forgot laser hair removal. That's an expensive treatment. For some types of skin it leaves scars and some types it doesn't, or so I have been told. Always test it on a patch of skin you don't mind getting scarred, something of a similar type to where you want the work done. Or just have a tiny bit done at first and wait to see if it scars. Benefit of laser hair removal is it doesn't come back.

It's called personal taste. Ever heard of that ?

Although not my head, salon waxing every 3-4 weeks and gentle shaving (razor) every day or every other day works in my case. Have you tried a body shaver instead? I use one if I'm feeling lazy and they are extremely gentle.

Are the bumps just due the natural shape of your head or a minor bit of acne? There are products you can use to keep it cleared up. You can use Lubriderm after shaving/waxing to avoid itchiness and smooth any stubbles that could show up in a couple days or so.
