Disconnecting when tabbing

Hi, not sure if this is an actual problem with the game, but almost every time I tab out of the game - even just for a few seconds - and return again, the connection drops and I have to quit and restart.... Wondered if there is anything I can do to prevent this happening, or if it's just a case of not minimising the game while it is active?

I don't know why this is. Perhaps changing your graphics settings to "window mode" will help though.

I suggest fixed window

And yeah there's few that can speak for macs here :3

There are/were issues w/ the Mac client freezing. I just returned after a 5-6 month break. A reason I 'left' was the client would freeze even when having focus, and freeze a lot. I do run up to three accounts at a time. Anyway, I've been back for about two weeks and if I stay 'active', I've only had a couple freezes while playing. If I dock and AFK, I've had clients crash several times, but I wasn't doing anything, so 'meh. So far, it's a lot better than it was. I do run window'd mode and would suggest, as others have, try it. YMMV though.

Yeah - the bad news is you are always going to get lower performance and general weirdness using a Apple / Linux system to play Eve versus on a Windows install. Eve is a DirectX game, and outside of windows - everything is running through a compatibility layer. :(

Yeah, I've had several freezes / crashes (to the point where I had to hard restart my Mac). On the whole it seems to be ok though, as long as I don't go AFK too often and keep the EVE window live.

Leading on from this, I am experiencing fairly regular disconnects when playing... Some sessions it happens every 30 minutes or so (like today - just had the 3rd d/c in an hour), other times it's every hour or two, but at some point every time i am online, i WILL get cut off sooner or later.

It's quite annoying because half the time if mining or something fairly idle, i don't notice that the connection has dropped immediately... about 4 in 5 times, i get no popup to say the connection has gone. Everything stops responding, then i have to hard quit out of the game because the esc > quit game route does not respond.

Any suggestions?!
