Why do you make a good patch and then let it down with something like FONTS!! LOL!
Why change something that no one has a problem with?
You just add fuel to the fire with every patch by doing stupid things like this.

A quote from my corpie "UI is fked up and the new font looks like something a girl would use on her blog lol"

Anyways Nice patch! apart from the fonts ofcourse...

I actually struggle to read this font, and had no problems whatsoever with reading the old font.

Too big and cluttered.

Overview, chat windows and items / ships are now off limits to my eyes.

Because you warned them they should have listened.

Understood that CCP is aiming for the new technologies and stuff but I play at 15" brand new MacBook Pro that costs like hell and I can't see anything anymore with this font. Every single irrelevant tab is enlarged, character spacing is HUGE and everything is so heavy to read. Why don't you guys simple install this Arial if you want to change something? Or have us pick what font we would like to use. This is horror and I have HARD time to play!

I do not believe anyone who claims to be able to read the old font but not the new one. I understand if you do not like how it looks but I call lies if you say you cant read this! Part of the reason the font is ugly is because it is so clear to read.

As I posted in another thread, I'm not a fan of this font. It is easier to distinguish characters than it was with the other font. However this one doesn't fit with the style of EVE in my opinion. I'm no typography expert, but it seems to me that a cleaner and smoother font would have fit better.

Wait. So what are you talking about?

First, you mention fonts, and now you're talking about something that no-one has a problem with? What is that? It can't be the font, since it has been pretty much the most requested change for, oh, the last five years or so. The new one improves readability to a huge degree by offering some actual differentiation between similarly shaped glyphs. Functionality trumps looks.

I like the new font, on account of being able to read it better. So yeah.

Go to display & graphics, select UI scaling to 90%

It might make it a little more bearable, by not being so frakking bloated.

But yeah - agreed do not like.

Not emptyquoting. We get a far, far easier to read font and people are throwing the dummy out of the pram simply because it's not 'SciFi' or 'Cool' enough? Sure, I'd like that too but first and foremost I should be able to read and parse the text easily. Function over Form.

I think what they are trying to express is that while the new font fixes that functionality issue, it's not a very aesthetically pleasing font [to them, and me]. I agree that the new font is technically better than the old one, and I'll grow into it, but I would hope for a third font down the road that would come off looking nicer to fit the theme of EVE.

Stop trying to act smart and come back down to earth please,
The new font is a joke and there was no problems with the last font.

I'm having a hard time reading the new font as well... I can't quite put my finger on it. It's like it's not quite as sharp. I'm actually having a harder time with numbers now than before...

After some experimantation seems as though if I make the font large enough it's okay, but it some places it's stuck small and it's a problem.

I'm 31, and had problems reading the old font at times. Especially letters like O and 0, B and 8, B and D, S and 5... etc.

No Problem even made it to the wiki

Offical thread listing the number of people who wanted old font changed in 2008- that is a long long time coming

I don't need to act. How about you instead stop trying to make claims that have no basis in reality. People have been asking for an improved font for ages, and now we got one. The old font was awful in every way imaginable, particularly when it came to legibility and distinction of glyphs — two things you definitely want in a text/numbers-heavy application.

If you believe otherwise, you simply haven't been paying attention and need to stop acting like you know anything about the issue.

I had no problems with the old font and I don't like the new font. Also I have a strange medical condition that conflates my personal opinion with that of the entire playerbase

The new fonts are not improved, my eyes feel blury when i read it, its tiring... the new font also requires theuser to move their eyes more to read a sentance, how is that more user friendly?

Anyways if i could put a bet on at the bookies, CCP chaning back to the old font will be one of them.

Get some glasses? That would probably help you spot the glaringly obvious flaws in the old font too (not to mention the vast improvements the new one offers).

If you want to throw away money like that, I'm willing to take it off your hands.
