so about 3 weeks ago i started the free trial. after about a week, i went ahead and bought a plex and applied it to my account, making me no longer a trial account. i like the game and figured id make a 2nd account, which i did.. though the second account is a trial at this point. the email is verified, character created, training started etc. then i log out to go back to my main and i get a connection refused error msg on log in. so now i can play on the free account (which i plan to upgrade with a plex using isk at some point), but im not allowed to play on the account which i have already paid for. theres no way im going to start over or write off the next 3 weeks worth of game time purchased. if thats the case, ill just find another game to play.

As far as I know you cant have multipe games running on the same comptuer if they (or one) is a trial.
Pay for the other account and you can use both.

You can temporarily reactive any account and apply the PLEX in a 4-hour window through the account management page ( https://secure.eve-online.com/AccountManMenu.aspx ) -- Could be that you didn't right-click the PLEX and add the game time; you should have got a receipt ingame.

Login Account management and check the status of it.
