Actually you can, well CCP in general. While I can understand that the wanted sign should be visible it doesn't really mesh well with "please spend plex/aurum on clothing" because you can't actually see your avatar too well. There's already too much detachment from one's character to begin with, having one's avatar plastered in bright red text doesn't help.


you can still see your un-wanted face if you click the portrait in your charactersheet. it'll even show you a large version of your pretty character

This is helpful to exactly no one. I can't do this for other characters without looking at the full model, which isn't the same and I often don't care to do. 99% of the time I'm checking someone's corp history and I'm seeing the WANTED (100,000 isk bounty). And that's what they're seeing when they look at my character.

This is one of those things people have wanted fixed for years, without any compelling reason to be in the state its in besides "well that's how we did it 10 years ago," with a healthy dose of "that guy doesn't work here anymore, sorry. Straight"

Getting rid of a 100k ISK bounty is so damn hard. And everyone with a proper bounty carries it with pride.

Woulda been cool if CCP could render the WANTED sign at the top and behind the character. Though, some portraits are so up-close that it wouldn't work. Even mine is probably too much of a close up for much of it to show, if it was a part of the background.

Anyway, I never liked the placement of it either. I ended up just zooming out and nudging all of my characters upwards a bit, leaving a bit of empty space for any potential WANTED signs.

It seems like the WANTED sign could be lowered pretty easily though. There is already a bit of space underneath the portrait, and the WANTED is overlaid on top of the portrait higher than it really needs to be. Could be moved down quite a bit to show more face.

Anything between 1-3 months. I took at most a couple of months hiatus, remember having a bounty on me before I took it, and it was gone. So it's not a huge amount of time, but considerable seeing how much training time you can lose if you try to shake bounties that way. It is the only practical way of course if you have billions upon billions on your bounty and you're not a Titan pilot.
