As you probably know, the month of April is weeks away and I thought I'd share a few ideas for CCP to troll EVE Online and to provide a thread where other people post their April Fools ideas, to be implemented for one whole week starting April 1st.

My idea: Switch the weapon platforms up for each race. Minmatar should use Lasers, Amarr should use Hybrids, Caldari should use Autocannons & Drones and Gallente should turn into missile boats. And of course swap the capacitors around to match.

They best make backups of everything or they could accidentally delete everything in process of a prank, THAT would be a real nasty prank.

aprils fools jokes are meant to be funny, yet not cruel. It be kind of cruel to have phoenix not suck for 1 day...then return them to the normal crap they are the rest of the year on april 2nd. Eve is supposed to be cold, but that is just too cold lol.

all standings are inverted for the day (-10 becomes -10 and vice versa)

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it [u]WILL[/u] be.

The joke is that the Moros isn't going to get switched back. Lol

Speaking of the Moros, maybe on April 1st they can deploy a mini-patch that finally adds a flush-handle to the Moros' model. It's been missing for quite a long time.

Idea 1:
For each region, pick one system at random and do following:


  • If it's hisec system, turn it to lowsec for one day.
  • If it's lowsec system, turn it to nullsec for one day.
  • If it's nullsec system, offline TCU in it for one day.

NPC null gets away in this setup, but who cares =)

Idea 2:
All manufacturing jobs that finish on April 1st produce scrap metal. All rats have negative bounties.

this is not as cool as it seems.


NOt sure how many ships are affected but I know once I had tengu fly backwards. It was a common enough tengu bug I found the solution real quick somewhere here. Wipe the cache iirc. Its good for a few chuckles but gets old fast.

Like the time CCP accidentally erased the Boot.ini file while patching so the game didn't work til they fixed it?

I would actually like to see that. And after the 1st an investigative report from CCP's economy gurus about the results, like drop in manufacturing, trade volumes, spike in destroyed ships, price spikes, downfall in NPC kills, ores mined, etc. I guess it's more than one day necessary to show real, long-lasting effects but it would certainly be interesting to see what happens.

And just to sooth all the potential victims: all the offenders get ship killed one day after in a massive clean up operation by CONCORD. Twisted

Have the door-light to the Captains quarters flash green (to attract attention). When the player clicks the button, it opens - but just a crack, and then short-circuits. Through this tiny crack, through the dense steam of a spa pool (jacuzzi), you see just a glimpse of a female thigh (or perhaps androgynous, to not offend anyone?) draped over the edge into the water.

Then publish the statistics of how many times the door was opened and closed, and the number of petitions to have the door fixed. Big smile
