This morning I logged on, after the server restart and when I log in and select my char all I get is a black screen and a pop up saying I have an eve mail.

Not done any upgrades that would've broke it.

Nuked all my settings, didn't do anything.
Nuked my wine env and reinstalled and still had it.

Anyone got any suggestions, was there a patch this morning?

I can confirm I have the same issue (i386).
I do not have comcrap, er, comcast though.
I do not understand why we have to change DNS nameservers.

I'm having this issue on Xubuntu 12.04 64-bit.

1) I was able to ping the server and running a telnet was successful.

2) After entering my login information it takes a while for the button to change from 'Log In' to 'Play'.

3) I get sound but no video.

4) my video card settings are set to minimum

5) my video card drivers are updated

6) I did a port forward in my firewall and router for both ports 26000 and 3724

7) Tried to submit a support ticket but got a 500 Internal Server Error

8) Changing DNS servers seems to have worked for me as well. I couldn't even post on the forum until I changed my DNS servers.

Seems after DT it is now fixed for me. Wasn't working before DT.

Ditto. Think it may have been a client issue (that only occurred for a subset of users). After patching this morning I was able to get in. Just in time for updating the skill queue...

Xubuntu 13.10 64-bit mit Wine 1.7.13

Past days no problems. Trying to login to day. Every thing is fine. Except black Screen after Loading the Mail View.

No suspect output from wine via terminal.

Any ideas?

Can confirm, since patching Rubicon 1.2.7 today (I'm a day late). Mail icon, black screen. I rebooted to Windows because my skill queue ran empty.

ElementaryOS Luna x64
Wine 1.7.13
NVIDIA 331.49

I should mention that I very briefly see a UI flash before the screen goes dark (it appears to be some in-game windows that are open). Going to leave it running and see what happens, but this isn't good.

Tried OpenDNS, does not work sadly.

I still have this problem. Have updated Wine and even re-installed Eve.

Just a flashing cursor when I log in and a message telling me I have new mail.

Even worse - the audio works

This definitely seems to be a network issue: http://i.imgur.com/e5T1dPH.png

I waited about 10mins, after which the client timed out. I'm not sure if I'm setting DNS servers incorrectly, but I tried OpenDNS and it does not work for me. Also, the fact that it works under Windows means that the networking issue is probably local, sadly.

However, I could be noobing out and not setting the DNS servers properly.

Does a workaround or something exist now?

Changing to openDNS didn't solved the issues

EDIT:
I discovered that I can play EVE while being connected to my VPN Server in Netherlands

I have a work-around.

My ISP (doesnt work):
IP: 95.91.235.13
DNS: 95-91-235-13-dynip.superkabel.de
Land: Germany Germany
Stadt: Dachau

My VPN-service:
IP: 37.48.74.77
DNS: amsterdam1.perfect-privacy.com
Land: Netherlands Netherlands
Stadt: Amsterdam

using the VPN service i can play eve. As I said its just a work-around till the problem is solved.

Bump - this is still happening to me as of 19-04-2014

If I ctrl+alt+shift+m to open the monitor window, I can see that there are multiple remote calls stacking up, unable to complete. Really weird. I tried OpenDNS to no avail.
