Risks in solo PI in wormhole?

Dear readers,

I have a PI setup in C3 wormhole and was just wondering couple of things:

1. Can you access your colony that is in w-space from hisec/losec/nullsec? If this is not possible, can you remote-detonate your colony somehow?

2. If I were to lock myself out of the w-space that my colony is in, any chances of finding that w-space again? (wormhole collapse while I'm browsing the market for example)

3. How would a successfull player haul his/hers PI goods from w-space to market?

1.) no.

2.) no.

3.) In a ship.

1) YES But you can't import or export from outside the hole.

2) Very slim chance. Train an alt to scan and leave it in the hole.

3) with a hauler of just about any sort. With a proper scout of course.

1. No

2. No

3. Most of the super-pro PI people around here use Nestors fit with max cargo space to do their PI runs. The low mass really helps not stress out your holes too much.

I might have to try this. I've currently been warping my Fenrir from POCO to POCO to take care of my PI. That low mass will save me so much align time!

1) You can manage your colony and even cancel it completely by scrapping the command center. You can not use the space port; I am not sure if you are able to launch stuff from the command center when you are not in space in the system your planet is in. AFAIK that works, but obviously you need to be there to grab the can.

2) extremely low chances. Always leave at least one alt in a scanning ship in the WH. Alternatively, have an high sec alt that does the shopping and deliver to the exit system. But, you really need a scanner alt in system. Just imagine someone bubbles the exit and pods you when you are landing.

3) Carefully :). I usually use cloaky transports. If I have large volumes I use a scout and/or off times. The PI haulers, stabbed to the max are an option as well, although the cloak is best IMO, even if capacity suffers. I'd rather make a few runs than get blown up.

Topic answered but ill weigh in with my 2c with some ideas that may help.

1. a) "Remote detonate": yes.
b) Manage: planetside yes, orbital actions no (ie POCO)

2. Chances are almost impossible. Protip is to put a scanning alt in the hole. Friends works, ive had buddies in other holes with a static of my class (ie I was podded im my C2 and had friends in a C3 with a C2 static, they let me roll holes hoping to find mine). It took a while but worked, mostly patience and time paid off.

3. Make a HS hauly alt. Use wormhole character to haul out of exit to station and contract to HS alt to take to market. Less likelyhood of getting locked out too. Ship size depends on your static; I use Orcas in a C2 or higher to a HS static, cloakies to a LS or NS regardless of hole mass. Orcas also help roll a static or leave it crit really well too.

Best bet: Get friends to work with/use all your alt slots: 1 permanent WH resident (scan/covops trained) so you dont get locked out, 1 permanent highsec resident (market/hauly trained, covops if static is LS or NS) for hauling all the shinies to market, and primary account for all the pew pew and middlemanning. You can also train 2 of them for PI, double your profit/double your yum. You could train up the hauly for PI as well and only need to bring them in for pickups but I gather your looking to minimize risk and thats already a decent amount of training in the queue.

Any more questions feel free to convo/mail me in game, good luck and Dscan like a boss.

Fly safe, happy hunting, and may your deathsplosion be brilliant and all encompassing.

Your biggest threat to PI in a C3 is if I find you. Blink

But for realsies, the advice about the lockout busting inside alt and the lockout busting hisec hauler alt are both great things to do.

A significant risk is that if an entity moves into the wormhole, they will probably demolish any existing POCOs and replace them with their own.

Bob is always present, watching you traverse space accessable only though wormholes. He is the constant reminder that there is always someone watching you, waiting for your moment of weakness to appear and claim his toll for collecting the bounty of his realm.

Plenty of good replies personally every toon I have in a WH can scan they can all fly interceptors and gallente haulers 5 toons pay for my 4 accounts usig PI.
Take the time to learn about wormholes or join a WH alliance that can help with unwanted visitors, and most of all have patience

1. yes, only to reset the extractors. Not to operate the customs office
2. not really
3. Get an Epithal and fill the low slots with Warp core Stabilizers. Anything but a bubble or a high-alpha ship and you are pretty safe. I hate these things...
