Patches Patches and yes even more Patches

So I have been having a moan at CCP lately because IMO there are way to many patches being deployed, it seems every time i log on that I have to wait for another patch to be deployed.

What I have been told is that "the deployment format for EVE Online has changed somewhat to more frequent smaller patches over the past year as opposed to one or two patches per month. "

I'm not keen on this frequency of deployment in the last 4 days there have been at least 2 patches deployed, I don't get to play much in the week presently so that number could be more. I am aware my limited midweek game time does exacerbate the situation but I feel the current rate is too much and I'd like CCP to have a re-think and slow down on the deployment of patches a little please.

While I agree that it's annoying with constant patches I have to say that it always a two way street.

And I have hard to argue against rapid deployment of patches when they solve issues that make the game impossible to play for a number of users.

Having patch time eat into ones play time is annoying, but better than having game time totally denied due to tech issues.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Please do continue complaining about things being fixed. Not like there's a shortage of things to fix.

Patches every day please.

OP, this is pretty much what the playerbase said to CCP for a very long time. Fortunately, they listened. If you're upset over them fixing stuff quicker then I really don't know what to tell you.

I like patches. It tells me stuff is getting fixed and I dont have to wait 'til the next BIG update to enjoy it.

and lets face it the patch is done before I even finished putting my coffee down and put my glasses on. I really dont see how anyone can complain about them.

"but I like bugs!"

Load up client, see patch, fire up the microwave/oven for some taquitos, grab a soda. come back. patch is likely fisnihed before you even left your computer in the first place.

I really dont see the problem. Gives you a chance to grab some snacks in preparation of EVE time, fixes bugs in a timely manner.

sounds more like OP just has a bad case of poor time management.

If patches are cutting into your game time that bad, it's probably but your internet is dead dinosaur slow. In theory the more often the patches the shorter they will be.

As long as the update doesn't fix one thing and break 2 otthers I am happy to update. It makes me feel warm and cozy seeing progress is being made :)

CCP is trolling the ddosers :) I've complained about multitudes of patches myself but it sure is fun to watch them respond and how quickly they can do it.

To be honest, I hardly ever notice the patches until I look at the patch notes to see if there was a patch. I don't see how it can be much of a hinderance to have patches everyday, unless maybe if you're still on dial up. And if that's the case, sucks to be you.

I forgot, why are "too many patches" bad again? I thought this was a good thing. It always seemed to **** people off (including me) when they don't fix stuff before moving on to another expansion, so I'm a little confused as to why this troubles you.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Micropatches > huge ones every month. I'd rather lose 15 minutes playtime a week than 2 hours one day a month because the big patch broke a load of smaller stuff. This way if they break it they can fix it within days rather than months.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

As someone on satellite internet, Much prefer many 20 MB patches I can hit daily at downtime over huge 8 GB patches I need to spend 5 days downloading, then failing to authenticate client, then running client repair tool three times to fix completely.
