CNR Battleship Fitting (Help and Suggestions)

So i wanted to make my Caldari Navy Raven a Super Tank (and by super tank i mean it, it has as much defense as possible), i know that Super Tanks are not normally done since they take away from DPS and if you are stuck in a long fight slowly getting dwindled down to structure and you cannot kill your attackers you are dead anyway.

But i am doing this to mainly combat suicide gankers in high sec, i will only need to last 10-30 seconds. I know that if i get jumped by 5 or more i am probably done for but still, i would like a decent fighting chance, or at least be able to survive it.

So i know that fitting a bunch of shield amps is a waist but 2 shield amps with a medium booster will be like 400 shield in 2-3 seconds. A large booster will net me 460 shield or so with one amp but thats over 4-5 seconds, and an XL Booster will net me 600-800 shield in 5-6 seconds depending if i use amps or not.

So what booster setup should i go with?

Now onto the Resistances. I could fit a invulnerability field and then have 4 resistance amplifiers each one a different resistance, one kinetic, one Thermic, one explosive and one EM. Though i already know if i say for example fit 4 kinetic i would be getting a huge debuff like 1st 100%, 2nd 85%, 3rd 30% and 4th 12% (this is effectiveness not resistance) or something along the lines of that (i would never do this btw). But does that same principle apply to different resistances? So will my Kinetic be at 100% effective then the Thermic be at like 85% effective then the Explosive sits at 30% and the EM is at like 12%? Basically the same trype of debuff i would get with 4 kinetic amps like i stated above?

So what resistance setup should i use? Is my idea effective thinking on the lines of a PURE turtle effect.

So lets hop onto speed. Putting a MWD is more than likely not going to happen since i will be warp scrambled in a gank attempt and my capicitor will only be able to handle 30 seconds to a few minutes of fighting if that. Plus this is not effective at all for L3 and L4 missions (i am not trying to mission fit that comes second to this). Now a afterburner will probably get me 5 minutes and this would be decent. But then again i would prefer to be a slow turtle then a bug with a soft shell thats about to get squashed when he is caught. So i am keeping Cap Stable in mind but it is not needed.

So should i try to setup speed on my ship?

And Lastly what about those other defenses?

Should i get a Warp Stabilizer? Or other modules like Vampires or Activated Cap Rechargers?

As for the weapon systems i will be choosing what i can use ATM (5 Drones, Cruise Missles Etc), i am not here to discuss offence, but if you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know.

Now this is a bit off topic but what sort of high slot non weapon modules are nice to have? Also are their any Capacitor, Power or CPU modules that give bonuses that will fit in high slots? I do have 8 Highslots and i can limit my Missle Launchers to 4-6.

So with all that said i am hoping for some decent feedback on this.

On another note to save you from a few negetive remarks...

I have enough isk to cover losses of this ship and all its modules and rigging in full, and then some after that and so on.

I am not reckless and idiotic, i catch onto games very quick and have read and accepted a ton of feedback from other players.

I am almost finnished with all the requirements on Mastery II for the CNR.

I have about 1.3mill Skillpoints

I have worked my ass off to fly something everyone tells me not to fly, i still pvp in frigs and mine asteroids.

I am well aware that i will lose my ship at some point down the road, if not sooner, could be right after this thread when i leave the station with it. Im fine with that!

Thanks for reading happy.... umm ..... >.> .. ?Space--ing? Lol...

These few steps will protect you from ganks:

1) Move away from warpin beacon

2) Fight aligned to celestial or safe spot for fast warpouts

3) Spam D-Scan and keep your eye on local

There are more things you can do but it's rather late and too sleepy to function for much longer. I'll post more info tomorrow or evemail me for it.

If caught, high ehp/buffer is what you need to counter ganks. Shield boosting is useless in this particular scenario.

I'd advise fitting a DCU. They can add a lot of EHP to your ship, and in a gank, that's what you're looking for, given that active tanks will certainly fall short.

Enemies are just friends who stab you in the front.

If you want gank resistant - Navy Scorpion. I have one that I use for Jita runs, 220K+ EHP with a prop mod, without requiring any expensive modules.

Also, 1.3 million skill points is probably too low to consider flying a battleship. A active tank Navy Scorpion would be safer, if you absolutely must fly a battleship now. The resistance bonus & the extra mid slots for tank might make up for your lower skills.

Edit: Just as an FYI, most gank attempts are going to attempt to alpha you straight off the field. You'd be dead before shield boosters would help. It's all about prevention - don't use expensive modules. EHP helps, as it requires more effort to take down a high EHP target in a gank, and it's not profitable unless the fit has a silly amount of expensive modules on it.

Basically this. They simply alpha you. Before they engage you, they will have scanned your fit and simply bring the required amount of alpha.

Generally you don't need a lot of bling to run missions. If you need extra tank have a look at low- or high-grade crystal implants. For extra dps consider using hardwires - maybe consider CN/DG BCU's. A simple t2 fit with these config's will do well. Such a fit is also not worth ganking for profit.

this is what you want to fly in a ganker infested area http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/69343-Raven-Starter-Level-4-Missioner.html - its cheap and safe if you dont like asb just get a large t2 oh and MJD away from warpin beacon

Some good feedback here.

OP, I suggest that you read this article, it will help in explaining what you have to do against mission ganking in Highsec.

If you really want to gimp your profitability in your missioner though, you will have to use a SNI.

The above will give you 211k EHP omni, and a mean drop rate of 30 million isk from a gank. You can fit it with cpu management V and weapon upgrades V (maxing both skills is paramount btw), for a total investment of around 790m isk (460m from the hull and 60m in droppable modules). You can opt for T1 rigs if you like, bringing the cost down to 540m isk.

Ultimately though, you will hurt both your profitability and your RoI if you choose to gimp a PvE fit (for example, the above SNI has terrible damage application against small targets). It is much better to use a proper min-max loadout for missioning, and....pay attention to your surroundings.

Hope that helps, cheers...C:

The best defence against suicide ganking is not fitting hilarious bling, so your reasoning shouldn't be "what if I get ganked" but rather "lets decrease the chance I get ganked to a minimum". There's zero reason to gank a normal/low bling CNR for the simple reason that in that same system there will be 20 blinged out other targets.

While adding some EHP (in the form of resists) can make really good sense it still isn't really needed if you keep your fits sane. If someone specifically targets you then no amount of tank will help you so I'd probably advice you to not stress too much over it, and not believe the boogie man stories. Just fit your CNR sensibly and you'll be fine.

I was going to suggest all officer mods. Be sure to let everyone in local know what you're running.

The best tank is to not be a target in the first place.

Don't over bling your ship, t2 tank works just fine, t2 guns are better than faction/officer, want a bit more firepower? use implants, they tend to be about the same price as bling gear.

EHP is also very good to have for PVE. If your tank is bursty, you don't have to use it so much, and when you do you get more time to recharge your cap. If your tank is low burst but sustainable, you have plenty of time to kill stuff while your shields/armor bleed down. Try flying an unplated ishtar or a non-extended shield ishtar if you want to know the pitfalls of having very low base hp.

What Baltec said. The new meta is a neuting Stabber that will cap you dry in one cycle so all your mods are going to go off.

Put the bling in your head, they can't scan that with a neutral alt.

If you are really paranoid, put a mobile depot in all the systems you are regularly in and swap out your lows for plates and a DCU before jumping a gate. Even if they zap your cap you should have time to turn on the DCU.
