So, a couple days ago, I subscribed again to get my name on the monument in iceland.
But I haven't played EVE yet. I just couldn't bring myself to it, even though I have plenty of time for it.


Thing is... I've been to EVE, and somehow I always get back into the same old cycle of grinding and it bores me.
The worst of all is that I'm a lone wolf type of player. I'm not good with other players, either because I'm too shy to talk on comms, or because the corps I choose are claiming to be in my timezone, while in reality they are from the USA. Leading to my usual response of: NO I AM NOT GOING TO GET UP AT 2 AM TO JOIN YOUR OPS, IDIOT.


So I had to learn to play on my own, depend on myself, and managed fine thus far.
But I never had the feeling I actually played the game and had fun. So, that's not good, is it? :P
I just... grinded. I think I am crap at PvP, but I had some victories while I was with RvB.
Most of my money comes from buying PLEX and converting it into ISK, or because I felt like mining for days. Boring as hell, but at least I'm not spending RL money on PLEX to get an ISK boost.

I don't have an alt, and most of my activities revolve around:
- Missioning in a Megathron.
- Sometimes I do low-cost / low-reward courier contracts between trade hubs.
- Exploring, both in K and W space.
- Mining in 0.5 / 0.4 systems.
- Roaming through null with an incursus and getting blown up by 30 people simultaniously shooting at me.

What can I do?
- I have moderate experience in PvP, but I fly best with other players. On my own I'm just crap.
- I have no active alt (I used to have one), my computer can't handle running two EVE clients at once. So for that reason, my main character is a jack-of-all-trades kind of figure, mostly specialised in Gallente ships and blasters/rails, but can do almost anything related to mining and trading as well.
- I am a mining fleet booster with Orca capabilities.


So what can I do? I'm looking at trying to reinvigorate my EVE experience, but for that I need other players who genuinely are interested in playing WITH me, and not use me as some sort of number-booster to make their corp look big, or cannon fodder, or tax income for them. Or, they claim to have a PvP wing which I'd like, but then when I join them it turns out that said wing is then 2 pilots who don't roam or PvP at all.

I didn't have much luck with finding a corp, and I'm disappointed.


Why this thread?
1: I am NOT going to give up, so don't bother asking for my stuff. I just need... friends. Of course, I want to play in the european timezones and would like it if you were really from the EU as well.
It doesn't really matter to me where I play in EVE, I have plenty of experience living in low, null, and highsec space.

2: I'm also looking for inspiration to continue playing. A change of pace, so to speak, but I don't know how to get into contact with groups that do these things:
One idea I found interesting is getting deep into null and setting up an ESS or several MSUs to irritate the nullbears
The other thing I would find interesting is trying to make a living in WH space... but everytime I enter WH space it doesn't end well for me.
And finally, I would like to eventually train up to dreads and carriers, and possibly even a titan, but I'll need support for that.

The mining and industry and PvE part of EVE... meh. I don't mind doing it, but it shouldn't be the ONLY thing I am doing.


So, any takers for somewhat of a failing pilot, and get me into the game again? I would be very grateful, as EVE is still the game which I think has so much to offer, and I have the feeling I only scratched the surface of the things I can do here.
I can be quite hardcore in multiplayer gaming, it's just that I didn't have the opportunity to be that way yet.

We are a small PVP corp in NPC space and we have a fair few newish players. By that I mean they may not be new to the game but are new to PVP.

We are able and willing to help with advice, ship fits and a SRP program so you won't waste to much isk on ship losses.

The alliance has fleet doctrines for you to aim for and we have a lot of fleets both large and small so there is always plenty going on.

Me and a RL friend are in the same boat as you, different TZ tho, New Zealand TZ, we are normally on till server shut-down, other than that, we to just float around eve, when not 'grinding'.

Have tried to join a corp in 0.0 and got the week long run around by folk that forgot eve is a game, I left after being accepted on count they did not do anything other than sit around bitching about everyone else??.

We are looking to learn PvP for a laugh, and make a friend or 2 in game as boredom is starting to set in.
I am 40mill+ sp me friend is at 30mill+ sp, both very missile skilled and fly Caldari Shippies mainly the smaller ships but can fly battleships if need to.

I do like 'Brave Newbies' attitude, BUT, could never fit a word in on comms, lotsa pilots talkin all the time.

I/we also like to loiter around high sec space so the 'war dec'ing' corps will be a better option for now, and for f*^ksakes, if you are paronoid about 'spies', we wont be interested in you/your corp.

Warning! we are 'older' (RL) than most in eve but that don't mean much in the 'sandbox'.

It is time to step up from the eve basics and really see what eve has to offer, API no prob to the right corps/alliance.

For me, Nullsec was the answer to problems of boredom and isolation. I quit twice, but I've been persisting since joining my current corp. What we're looking for are like-minded individuals who resonate with what's in our 'ad, who we'd want to share our gaming time with, who also have an interest in pvp, and are not young. We're active(~120 members), competitive, sociable, calm, stable, experienced, supportive of our new guys, and if we're not busy on some war or project, we also like variety.
Our alliance, who are an excellent fit for us, further ensure that there's others outside the corp who aren't so different, and add some additional personality and fun to the game.

The downside is that you just missed a phase of action, where we took a new constellation for ourselves. The good news is that peacetime never lasts long.

Some of your wording makes it appear that you might not have a lot of Sov-Null experience, but may have some preconceived notions. I'd invite you to set that aside, and give us a look.
