Hello everyone. In case you haven't seen it yet, here's the dev blog that covers our plans for a limited ship customization pilot program in Rubicon 1.3.

To allow you all to try out the new skins and help us test the process for obtaining and applying them, we have put the skin blueprints in the SISI NEX store. PLEX are seeded for 100isk on SISI, so you can convert some of them to AUR and then grab some ship skins.

Let us know if you find any issues, and enjoy!

Compared to the devblog, the Pursuit Comet still has different visuals since yesterday morning's patch
Oh, and buying Aurum tokens directly does work on Sisi too Smile

It just looks as if the textures and/or shaders are still being tweaked and what you pictured is an intermediate/temp version. The final versions should appear soon.

When the world is running down, you make the best of what's still around.

Yes the Police Comet visuals are currently broken on SISI. This has also been fixed internally and will be correct in the next SISI patch (at the same time that they become available to fly).

Absolutely - though I tend to like this unfinished look. Separates it nicely from the overall majority of shiny ships.

Also, I noticed that the textures adapt local system's colors pretty strongly. At least the Punisher, which appears blueish in previews (info and fitting window) nearly turns to a Tash-Murkon Punisher in Metropolis (don't look at the fitting, had to hurry Smile)
Though this might be intentional due to the new lightning.

Hi there can it even be made to use global flags from all countries and mix maybe 2-3 plus 1 main one?? Other than the ones photoshopped like Barbie and hello Kitty, Yeah Maybe Paint them black as the sky or Bright as the Sun of that system? Just a thought and if in a Wh they can be oh like sleepers with sunlight on them .. Or another thing put our own style of racing stripes or wavy lines etc..for cheap amount of isk..Maybe also dead bodies someone said you would have to have those in hanger to put here and there on a ship is my guess at least a corpse is good for something and then its gone from hanger. After final choice is made then ship enters space and thats it with corp logo or what flag the person wants or wishes with low amounts of ISK and Standings with that station/ LP like 10 K- 20 K? Some people would like designs like from Dragon Ball Z or the toons from them or many shows and yeah I will toss in the Power rangers and there bad guys Just as a thought or Bugs Bunny.. But the Guristas may not take kindly to that too but its a thought... Enjoy the day!!

I'll admit that the Minmatar skin designs look awesome with their blood red...

However, the blueberry look to the Amarr ships is disturbing to say the least, I do hope there is some consideration to change this colour...what else goes with gold? Perhaps silver or blood red :-)

Also, I'm not too sure if there are shading problems with the Caldari versions, but if you rotate them a certain way they seem to get a pitch black look to them, which is pretty cool...

Edit: just made the ships using AUR, works fine...however, oh dear...what have you done to the Caldari ships? They looks like someone has slapped them with orange wotsits (google: wotsit)

You mean Gallente etc or player alliances?
Or.. RL countries which in the spirit of "no RL politics" should have no place in ingame objects like ship paintings?

Opinion: The Nugoeihuvi colorscheme looks like someone has paid a large amount of people to consume too much chili and vomit all over a standard Merlin hull.

Perhaps Sukuuvestaa, or another big corporation that hasn't gotten much attention? Wiyrkomi also looks a little bland IMO, but that could be fixed by additional decals or somesuch, colours are great.

On the contrary, the Nugoeihuvi Merlin looks like it was left out in the rain and rusted a bit.

Also, is it just me, or is the Kador Punisher making anything you put on it blue?

I can see myself 2 weeks after Rubicon 1.3 launch. I'm lying face down at my keyboard after a self inflicted gunshot to the head. I just could not stand all the trolls going "Woop Woop lololololol hehehehehehh!!!!XDXD" every goddamn time entering a new system.

Skins look fine but nothing I would go for personally. Black incursus gives me hope thought. I want Black Atron skin with neon green lights and green tinted windows. Something like the serpentis npc atrons, yeah that would be awesome.

This is actually correct! Our turret shading tech works like this: In general T1 and T2 turrets inherit their colour from the Ship they are attached to, but Faction turrets keep their own colour scheme.

Did I miss something here? I'm seeing Wiyrkomi Caldari ships, not Nugoeihuvi.

This is a known issue. The correct ships are currently in the NEX store, but not on the market. It has been fixed internally.

Don't know if this is an issue - but the coloring looks a bit off in station (was a minmatar station) but you dont really see the full majesty of the abby for example until you undock and then you see the fantastic blue on both sides. Internal station lighting gives odd coloring perhaps ?

The Rokh....wow is all i can say...looks fantastic.

That being said - +100 CCP these look great

One thing i can say is that if there is no strong contrast ex: the Rifter - between the regular hull color and the new scheme then it does not really give much of an effect. I am not sure people will want to pay for that....i could be wrong. Having blue tips, or black rifters with strong color accents might be more popular ie: The bees might have all black rifters with yellow bands strong contrasts that show up when looking at them.

The Maelstrom - also i think sufferers a bit with the scheme that is applied....to me its like the same ship - not enough of a difference to make me want to spend a buck or two to upgrade it.

Will play around a bit more with them....fit a few up and explode them :)

Thanks CCP

this is how you do micro transactions. give players something shiny to set themselves apart while maintaining game balance and throw in some way for the space-rich to pay with ingame currency.

also: WOOP WOOP bitches!

I should buy an Ishtar.

Can we get some sort of Fundraiser Thermometer Widget so I know exactly how much of my space munny I need to pour into this thing to get the full-blown implementation a reality? I'm pretty sure you could do a kickstarter to fund this particular development of Eve.

Guys, so far this is a great start and I am looking forward to seeing these pushed to Tranquility with 1.3.
My main question: Will there be at some point the ability to apply these paint jobs to rigged ships? I can understand if it would create issues, but I am curious if that was being looked into.

Otherwise, looking forward to seeing more skin jobs. Caldari in black would be nice to see.

Cloaking is the closest thing to a "Pause Game" button one can get while in space.
