2. Eve launcher started to patch
3. Patch fail at 25% (all the time)
4. There is an exception error message but i can't seem to paste here on the forums because the forums says it contains HTML.
5. Never had this issue before.

I'm having the same problem. Funny thing is, I run two clients on the same computer - one works fine while the other is not patching. Repair function doesn't seem to work at all either.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.

Yup. Same exact issue for me as well. Repair tool fails. Patch stops updating at about 25%.

I love this game and think the Devs normally do a great job. That said, I have to say that the response to these issues this past week have been complete and utter trash. I normally have a wonderful connection to Eve, and patches take me no time at all. But every since last weekend the launcher and the in-game client updater have both been completely unable to update. I've done a clean install of Eve and everything, nothing seems to change it. Now I have to rely on Amalthea's posting of the patch file on a server that, while I really appreciate him doing, is NOT a secure method to be updating the game. Could easily end up with a keylogger or other issues from such a solution.

Why is there NO dev reply on this? Why can't any of you guys explain why large groups of players who normally never have issues are suddenly unable to patch for 5 days and running? You can't even be bothered to put up a post telling us you know something's wrong and post the patch file on your own secure server in a way we can pull down knowing it's from you?

Horrible management of the problem. Whomever is handling customer service/community management should be reprimanded for this crap over at CCP.

Patch completed and client ready. I was able to find a fix by changing my ISP. Previously, I was using a 3G phone internet connection, I switched to a wired connected broadband ISP and was able to complete the patching.

I'm kind of shocked you were using a 3G phone as your hotspot? But nonetheless its great that you got it to work. Smile

I'm still having an the issue and am using broadband. Support ticket submitted.

I was having some problem with my broadband, just got it resolved today by the ISP's tech support. That's why i was making "do" with my phone. Now, its all good. I suggest trying to find a temporary ISP until you get the patch downloaded, then switchback to your home ISP. I live in the philippines, arguably one of the worst internet connected countries in the world, if i can find a way, I'm sure you can too.

I have been experiencing the same issue on two computers, with two different ISPs for about a week. The launcher will not patch. It only worked once when I uninstalled the client and re installed with the latest client download from the EVE website. This install began having the same issues 24 hours later. Even manually patching does not work, both in the launcher and by loading the client manually (launcher workaround) and attempting to allow it to patch. Everything fails.

My client is effectively unusable on any of my machines both at home and in another city. I've been playing since 2007 with barely any issues. This is completely new and random. I LOVE this game. Please help us, CCP.

I am having the same issue. Repair is successful and still launcher fails at 25% update. Response from CCP was useless.
Only thing that worked was installing the game from scratch. I have to do this on this computer every time there is a patch.

MESSAGE HISTORY:
Original ticket @ 2014-05-29 05:49:

Hi there. Again, my patching stops at 25% and i get Exception error. Last time it also happened to me and repair doesn't help, i had to reinstall the game to make it work. Why is this repeatedly happening? On other computer everything works fine but this one (which is newer and better) i got this for second time. Thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting customer support.

In order to rule out any issues with the launcher itself, I would like to ask you to try and reinstall the launcher itself as follows:

1. Delete the "launcher" subdirectory in the client installation folder
2. Reinstall the launcher by downloading running the following file (about 23MB in size):

http://content.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_655130.exe

Should the reinstalled launcher still fail to patch the game, then please attach the launcher log file for the start up attempt to a ticket in this regard, so we can look further into this. You can find the launcher log file within the "launcher\cache" subdirectory of the client installation folder.

Also please make sure that your security software is not interfering with the attempts of the launcher to download its patch files, which in some cases can result in the patching process hanging as well.

Best Regards,
GM Smiley

Thanks for your reply, i wasn't being able to test it until few minutes
ago. Downloading exe file you suggested is giving me the same error.
Patcher stops at (2/4): CREATING EVE_ONLINE_786923-789891_WIN.PATCH 25% and
i get exception error. I've also tried downloading files from https://web.ccpgamescdn.com/launcher/tranquility/selfupdates.htm ... same thing happening.

I had my antivirus uninstalled, restarted computer and tried again. Windows
firewall is turned off.

Reinstalling the game will probably fix the issue (like it did the last
time) but i don't want to download and reinstall everything on every patch
:(

Hello, I am GM Akilian

We do know that a corruption of some checksums is the problem, and it might be very worthwhile to delete the checksums and client_validation file in the launcher cache folder. This will cause the client to re-index its contents, e.g. take a couple of minutes on start up. If this still does not help then it might be a good idea to delete the .patch files that were downloaded, as well as the checksums and client_validation files.

This usually relates to another program on your computer altering some process or blocking some process the launcher is trying to perform which sometimes results in the launcher failing to update or freezing. The most common programs to cause this issue are security applications on your computer. If you have any security application installed besides the one you uninstalled you may need to add an exception for the launcher and the client in that programs exception list. These other program I'm talking about are malware scanners like spybot and ad-aware malware removal programs.

If you are using a proxy this may also cause update issue or freezes and you may need to put an exception for the cdn1.eveonline.com in your proxy exception list. If you have a router with a firewall or a software firewall make sure it allows all traffic through port 26000 for both UDP and TCP protocols.

With regards,
GM Akilian

As you may have already noticed, i had deleted "launcher" folder as per GM Smiley instructions. That being said there is no help in you telling me to delete specific file in that folder.
I don't have any malware or whatever software installed on this computer, nothing that blocks outgoing or incoming connections.

If i do then reinstalling the game from scratch wouldn't work, right?

But it does and i guess i will have to download full game again for every patch. Thanks.

Windows 8.1
two clients. $30 a month. For a game I have to reinstall every single time there is a patch!
This is ridiculous. This has been on going for over a year. I swear to god when my paid year for these two accounts expires in Feb or so I will not be resubb'ing as I am completely fed up with having to reinstall everytime CCP decides to push out a patch adding new content (and refuses to fix old content but that is a different post/rant).

Surely I am not the only one on windows 8.1 expeirenceing this??? I even formatted and reinstalled the OS thinking it could be it, but no. Low and behold here I am reinstalling Eve. AGAIN. and AGAIN.

I am one very very unhappy customer CCP.
