Hi!

I'm trying to fit the Caldari cruisers, Caracal and Moa, for L2 missions. I like both and use both, as I'm training hybrid and missile together. Here is what I came up with. Those are fits I can fly at the moment, so no fancy T2 stuff (yet, mostly level 3 skills).
The Caracal is tight for CPU and the Moa barely makes it powergrid wise, the 250mm railguns are ogres. The Caracal has 30 min capacitor while the Moa has only 6 min.

Use either Heavy Missiles or Heavy Assault Missiles on the Caracal for missions. The Rapid Light Missile Launchers have a high reloadtime and small clips for amo what will be extremly annoying in longer missions.

Try something like that, it will do the job:

Low
Ballistic Control System I
Ballistic Control System I
Ballistic Control System I
Pseudoelectron Containment Field I

Mid
Experimental 10MN Afterburner
Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
Limited Kinetic Deflection Field I
Limited Themic Dissipation Field I
Parallel Weapon Navigation Transmitter / Peripheral Weapon Navigation Diameter (whatever is cheaper)

High
'Arbalest' Heavy Missile Launcher / Prototype 'Arbalest' Heavy Assault Missile Launcher
'Arbalest' Heavy Missile Launcher / Prototype 'Arbalest' Heavy Assault Missile Launcher
'Arbalest' Heavy Missile Launcher / Prototype 'Arbalest' Heavy Assault Missile Launcher

I would recommend you to concentrate on Missiles for pve instead of hybrids. You will certainly switch to a Drake for Level 3 missions because it outperforms the Ferox in this branch.*

* My personal opinion, don't want to get angry comments from the Ferox-huggers here. But real men (and women) fly Heavy Assault Missile Drakes. Period. Blink

Thanks Rovinia, I've looked into heavy missile/heavy assault missile and I'm worried that they're going to have a hard time shooting frigates, which make 90% of targets in L2s. And I need to add fitting modules on the Caracal, I'm short on CPU and powergrid with 5 heavies :(

Edit: I did not notice the target painter in your fit. How much does that help vs frigate?

The set-ups I modifed last night:

The Target painter works pretty good, a web would have a bigger effect, but has a much smaller range. For the level 2 Mission Frigates it should do it's job.

I never did Agent missions with Rapid Light Missile launchers, so i can't really say it won't work. At the moment, they get mainly used in pvp, especially after the recent changes. In pve missions, you have lots of rats in every stage and only about 18 shots in your launchers. So you will spend nearly as much time reloading your weapons than doing damage to the rats. But it's a long time since i did Level 2's, if you can clean a mission with 1 or 2 reloads it could be tolerable. Try it out.

I would recommend you to switch to Heavy Assault / Heavy Missiles as a near-term goal. You will need them for Level 3's anyway.

Otherwise, perhaps these two rigs can help you out with your powergrid/cpu problem:

Medium processor overclocking unit I (increases your ship's cpu by 10%)
Medium ancillary current router I (increases your ship's powergrid by 10%)

The Moa fit looks solid. I personally prefer missiles because you can very easy switch to the damage type you need for the rats in your mission, but that's a matter of opinion.
