Greetings fabled halls of the IGS,

It's been sometime since I've taken any real active part of this pit of lies and general politically charged banter, however, I intend for that to change because, well, who doesn't enjoy wasting their time here?

While I haven't got myself up to speed on the current political landscape of the cluster, I thought instead of spending my own time catching up on past posts and puffy posturing, I would rather drop a generic message here so that the assembled throng of lurkers could fill me in with the more important details.

Other than to say hi, I'm here, and whats happening, that's pretty much it for now, apart from letting people know we are in the process of changing our Alliance logo into something more appealing for the masses.


New Logo


Work has started on the new letterheads and pencils, so I'll be sending these out via express Interbus shortly.

I assume that the very... distinctive similarity to the Electus Matari logo is intentional, and was authorized?

I'm not entirely sure how intellectual property or trademark laws work in the Republic (if they even exist), but I would hope the courtesy of asking permission first before copying in such a manner was observed.

I assume you're being facetious but, in case you're serious, EM's legal team will be contacting you.

True, I agree. A quick check shows me that the alliance was founded by an individual by the name of Tercius. Perhaps you could check which corporation he currently resides in and secure the proper blessings, if you have not already done so Meklon.

It was Electus Matari itself that informed us blood forms the basis of legal jurisdiction in the Republic. Because intellectual property does not bleed, it stands to reason there is no jurisdiction over intellectual property disputes in that backward hellhole.

Of course, Electus Matari pulled the notion of "blood jurisdiction" from its ass in order to make the argument that its aggression against the Federation was somehow not moronic hypocrisy - which makes estoppel seem quite just. Members of Electus Matari are invited to look up estoppel on their own. They might learn something.

Yes, it may seem somewhat unfair, now, to lay this on Electus Matari, given that those actually responsible for the nonsense of "blood jurisdiction" have separated themselves from that organization.

But Life is not Fair.

Me, being serious? Anabella, I'm suprised you'd even consider the notion of that. Though it does make me wonder why you would still have sway with Electus Matari's legal team considering they are no longer, technically, an active entity - or has that changed?

I suppose if you cannot make a name for yourself, trying to steal recognition from those who could makes perfect sense.

Hopefully Meklon gets this worked out to everyone's satisfaction. On the positive side, fortunately 5/8ths of the participants in this conversation were "those who could"! Though, I guess none of them are anymore, so perhaps it is a fair point.

I will privately discuss with him the ethical use of cloning, when it comes to brushes and other such artistic/branding endeavors.

I feel I should clarify - I actually like the way the new logo looks, just as I liked the original by Electus Matari.

I was just curious if this similarity was intentional and whether permission for its use had been sought.

The image is merely a mockery due to my former intrinsic history to the Electus, I was actually more interested in seeing who would comment and what words were brought to the table.

Indeed, many moons ago. I remember you also sir, if I remember you were quite the large supporter of my political goals some years ago... well, it was either that or you were one of the stars from the holo "Debbie does Delve". I'm hoping it was the former, but if not, you sir, have some skills.
