Im pretty sure its not $3000 has to be nearer $5000 as he must have clearly bought his character from the bazaar. All with plex. Frankly this reminds of the news story from august 2013 about Kimmy boy over in north korea having his ex girlfriend executed by firing squad (as you do...). My very public reaction to this news was to loudly complain that I too wanted to be an evil dictator. Its not fair I tell you. Its just not fair...

Wasting $5k on a video game? some people have too much money.

I think this settles the question on whether or not PLEX makes EVE PTW. Clearly, that $3000 didn't let him win.

Question is if Eve is a pay to lose game or not.

Because all the stories I hear about someone buying a bunch of ISK through plexes end with it going badly for the buyer.

There are many people who have not lost these ships yet, just flying around afk and such. It's sickening, I know. That's why we need your help in making highsec a better place.

True. But most of them are just plodding along like any other carebear trying to avoid interaction with other players.

I'm not away of any case where someone spent a large amount of cash on PLEX and had it turn out well for them.

It's kinda funny to me, the people who pop up suggesting that he sue CCP for losing his pixels.

You can immediately tell who read their user agreement and who didn't.

Grr, lawsuits.

I have spoken to this dude in game and does seem like a nice guy, I know he got scammed and blown up but that should be the end really> But for him its not as he is now getting hassle from others saying if he undocks they will hunt him down, lots of insalt's surely there should be a line between what is legal in eve and cyber bullying as i would class the hassle he is getting now as cyber bullying.
CCP needs to draw a line some were and i hope they will stop all the added agro he is getting.

You know what? For me, it's not about that he's basically a loot piñata. It's that he made irl threats, and expressed the willingness to carry them out.

That cannot be tolerated, not one little bit.

So all the "you guys are bullying him!" people can go jump in a lake. I genuinely hope that people chase him right out of this game.

the threats was made from rage surely you would rage if this happend to you and maybe say things we cant take back. Did the mittani do the same at fan fest, should he be chased out of the game for what he said?

Mittens got a pretty hefty game ban for what he said, 30 days I believe. And people bring it up basically any time there is a discussion about him or involving him.

So, should it follow this guy any less?

Oh, and I wouldn't rage out if this happened to me. Firstly I'm not so vastly stupid as to fly ships fitted like that, and secondly I actually have a healthy disconnect between online and reality, so I don't rage over pixels.

2 things popped in my head while reading this.

1/ auwww knight in shiney armor :)

2/ your just setting urself up for a "can i haz ur stuffz when u quite?"

BTW I do not think anyway is trying to suggest he sues CCP.

The dude wanted to sue in a rage.

I think there is a large % of reactions that suggest ccp should at least use that epic text to warn peeps this isnt your average mmo.
Maybe even with that drawing of the learning cure image embedded in the tutorial but pimped up.

So if CCP did the same here and put a 30day ban on him, and then he cam back to play would you still want him chased out of eve then

Yep. Because of the 2, he is the worse offender.

Mittens said "kill himself" instead of "quit the game" because he was drunk. If he had said "quit the game", he'd have been completely in the clear. He also publicly apologized, and emptied his wallet (which was pretty goddamn big since he's the King of Space) to the guy.

This new guy was sober, and expressed his intent to hunt someone down in real life, with no remorse or remittance. That is unacceptable.

in fact this is not my reasons at all, when i was new i got scammed a few times, but not to this scale so i generly feel sorry for the guy and if he does stay in eve i would be willing to give up some of my game time to help teach him about the way eve works and
help him train up right so he does not make the same mistake again.

well his wallet has been emptied all ready so all he needs if the CCP ban and make a public apolagy while showing some form of remorce and regret for what he said then things would be sorted right?

As that's the vibe am getting from your statement

That's cute.

My country's government scams people too (lottery winnings are always laughably low compared to the odds and NEVER have I seen any disclaimer about this), but they do it properly, no limits.

Yeah, the 'in-game punishment' that he's getting because of a few silly words he typed in a couple of convos is arguably excessive.

But remember, it's the toon that's getting a virtual beating, not the guy behind the keyboard.

OTOH, the guy behind the keyboard could actually profit and/or get some fun out of the temporary EVE-wide popularity of his toon!

Think scams or wardecs, for example. He just needs to either ally with a bunch of more experienced and creative EVE players, or sell them the toon for ISK. Then sit back, get some popcorn, and enjoy being on the good guys' Twisted side.

I have to laugh when I see this stupidity. You can't cyberbully Jimblidge. Jimblidge is not a real person. Jimblidge is an avatar in a video game.

Is he being harassed online out of game? Are people posting his IRL info? *Then* it is cyberbullying. If anyone did any fail cyberbullying, it was Jimblidge with his threats he made. People here are only threatening to blow up his internet spaceships, not IRL violence.

Get a grip.

You can't fix stupid. Once is naivety, he thought he could play Eve the way he played WoW and that gear is everything. He was wrong.

Falling for the most publicised recruitment scam in the history of Eve almost immediately after?
Having just lost a shitton of purple stuff, would you trust goons or a random eve player with x000 dollars worth of virtual assets without at least googling for info about them? They're the nigerian princes of internet spaceships FFS Pirate

That's stupid, sorry I have no sympathy.

I got 99 problems being that guy ain't one.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
