Someone was really pissed about the recent tweak to the Caracal.

... actually, while I think that it's incredibly easy to overanalyze the goals and priorities of script kiddies and their ilk, if I had to point to a motive I'd just note that CCP has been doing a great job of going after RMT sellers for quite a while now, and they're probably lashing out.

It seems highly likely it is becasue of CCP using Twitch.

There have been ongoing DDOS attacks on various games associated with Twitch for 6 months or more:

People totally do ddos for no reason, yeah.

And just because you can't keep up with current events, they did it to Blizzard, too, as well as quite a few other companies(EBay too, I think). It's coming out of India, is the running thought.

So "they" are just hitting as many targets as they can.

EVE players (the GD trolls no less) can't figure out why someone would DDoS? The irony...

After seeing what GSF did to that EVE-handicapped player with 44b Raven, I'd say some DDoS grief is the least of what we deserve. Shocked

No, I don't know.

No action taken in a videogame is an adequate excuse. I don't care how many precious little angels were trolled, scammed, or "griefed", there is no excuse.

And, once again, your argument isn't relevant, since this isn't targeted specifically at CCP.

Your post amounts to 'blaming the victim'

99.9% of the time these things are usually due to something the company did to **** someone off. Take the 2011 hacking of SOE, PSN, & Sony by Anon just because of the arrest of a guys who hacked a ps3 game. So generally this is something CCP if you go with the status quo CCP brought it upon themselves.

In all seriousness though, I'm not sure that all the issues are 100% caused by DDOS attacks. My issues and the issues of a lot of other people started Friday after downtime. There was a mini patch that Friday. I don't know about anyone else but my issues got substantially better after yesterdays Mini patch.

I'm still having issues, they just aren't as severe as they were Friday-Sunday where the game was unplayable at best.

Once they get the servers secure, I would seriously look at the Friday patch deployment. It may fix a lot of issues.

My issues started around a mini-patch around February 23rd. My issue with CCP is there has been a lot of poor craftsmanship on their part lately. I pay a subscription to play the game and not to fix their screw-ups. A company that has been developing the same game for over a decade should know how to properly patch the game without a lot issues.
