That was a server error page on the Eve website, without its stylesheet loaded properly (there was probably an error in loading it too). It looks like Eve Gate it working again, and you just experienced a temporary hiccup.

I wish this were true. But as I see that page quite often, I have my doubts.

I suspect "we were ganked" is a fancy way to say "500 Internal server error", which is an extremely vague indication that something went wrong. It could be a dropped request somewhere, the database going nuts, an error in the code, or a million other things. If something you're doing is consistently causing "ganked" pages, please report a bug so the web team can look into it.

I frequent quite a few forums, this is the only one that regularly gives me grief. I have a lack of faith so to speak, in the web team at CCP, so will not be reporting long standing issues. Mostly because they should have been fixed by now. Blink

Maybe the bad guys found a CCP honeypot. When you try to gank CCP, the Viking Squad ganks you.

Mostly I've seen this page when their's been a DDoS against the CCP servers - I find it a lot more fun and useful than a simple site error message tbh

Saw the forums was down while at work. Nothing like browsing the eve-o forums during my break to take my mind off of work even for a short time.
