For a solo crucifier, which do you think would be more useful?

The 1 TD and 1 web allows for all the benefits of full tackle, but going double TD allows you to handle a second target or completely biff the enemy's guns which in itself acts as a sort of range control to compensate for the lack of web.

You should be kiting so neither.
Mwd, point, tad, and cap booster. Then use an active rep in the lows

The crucifier makes a pretty nasty close range brawler due to the TD bonuses, even frig guns will only glance you every now and then (orbit at 500), and using a small anc armor rep in the lows is pretty much the usual.

I agree there are some nice kiting crucifier fits out there, but I've seen brawler crucifiers with some great success.

Use a Sentinel for this. Crucifier is a brawler in every solo sense.

OP, I suggest trying both, and seeing which works best for you against the widest selection of targets.

I wear my goggles at night.

Range control for brawlers is important, partly to make sure the fight happens at a range that favours you but also because you don't want your target to get out of scram range. You CAN get away with not fitting a web (if the target is slower than you while also not having a web) but a vast number of ships and fits you simply won't be able to handle because you can't keep the target in place.

So the choice becomes about being able to attack more types of single targets or dealing with more than one target. Truthfully, if there's more than one there's almost always going to be more than two, so if you DO go for a brawling fit (which makes sense for this ship) I'd probably focus on single target strategies. It's just not a well tanked dps ship that can endure 1-2 extra targets till you killed the initial one, so why try and aim for that.
