Ready to start FW

I am a new player of about 3 weeks now. I have gone through the experimentation stage and done Mining (ugh!), Hauling (strangely fun), Missions (Ok, I guess) but not really any pvp yet. The last week or so I have spent making some ISK and I have gone and bought 20 ships and outfits for it.

So I am ready to jump into Faction Warfare starting tomorrow. I wasted alot of time training other skills so spent the last few days to get minimum skills to pilot a Kestrel.

What faction do I choose however? The faction I choose should ideally have nice corps that accepts newbies. Based on advice players have given me I havent joined a corp yet because some corps is out to scam you? Be that as it may, I think asking here for a faction and then going to do some PVP until I get noticed by one of the FW PVP corps is probably a good idea.

Eagerly awaiting your advice

I recommend searching for a corp rather than selecting based on Faction. The make or break for you in FW will the people you fly with.

I can't really say much about Caldari and Gallente and might be slightly biased in the Amarr/Minmatar war but you should definitely join the Minmatar side. Blink

Here's a random recruitment thread with pretty awesome stories about the daily life in FW.

This man speaks the truth. You'll find that there's a subset of FW corps that are dedicated to living and fighting in low sec FW space. Those are the corps you want to be in - they're the most invested in FW, and get the most fights more often. Other FW corps tend to be based in high sec stations near the warzone, and on average tend to be more risk averse.

There's just something about putting your ship and assets on the line by living in an environment of constant PvP, with no high sec base, that just brings the best out of a PvP-focused corporation.

We Gallente have a saying: "CCP created the Gallente Militia to train the Fighters..."

Thank you for all the replies. I will consider the advice and wait a bit while I look for a corp that is willing to accept me.

Don't bother waiting, IMO. Just look through that list of corps, find one that's newbie friendly, and make sure their home base is in a FW station instead of non-warzone low sec or high sec.

Sooner you get down to exploding spaceships by the thousands each day (seriously, when people push a system in the Cal / Gal warzone it's 1200+ kills per day in that system....), the sooner you'll be able to understand why FW is the best damn thing in EVE.

We Gallente have a saying: "CCP created the Gallente Militia to train the Fighters..."
