Hi!
We are planning a mass test on Singularity on Tuesday, March 4th, at 17:00 UTC (= EVE time).

What exactly is being tested?
  • Various changes (low level, graphical, ...) for Rubicon 1.3
  • Gathering server performance data

How to connect to Singularity for this test:

Test steps:

  • Meet in FD-MLJ at the gate to X-BV98
  • Jump to X-BV98
  • Align to planet 6
  • Warp to POS beacon
  • Shoot the control tower
  • Align to Poitot gate
  • Fleet W: Jump to Poitot and setup gate camp
  • Fleet X: Jump to Poitot + fight at the gate (many capitals shall die)

What else should I know?
  • We will be moving players to the test system - join the channel massmoveme
  • Skill points will be awarded on Singularity for this mass test
  • Bring many different ships. Cynos will be provided

Looking forward to it!

Nothing specific, but feel free to bring them.

And no, I'm not planning to crash a node (but who knows what happens...).

I read the explanation, but don't understand how the skill point reward works.

Those who participate in mass tests receive unallocated skillpoints on SISI, that is, on the test server. They can be very handy, especially if you want to use the test server to, for example, test out flying a ship you're not able to fly yet on TQ.

What you do for yourself dies with you, what you do for others is immortal.

Someone said in chat there was a mailing list on TQ that you send announcments on. I forgot to join it before I logged off, can someone post it in here?

With the new feed back system/ questioner being used those that are not at the mass test can not test the fixes made becouse we do not know what issues where found that need more testing.

When we get bug report numbers back how do you see them working with the questioner?

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

See you around the universe.

Was this being used a lot by players? When we get bug report numbers back I will probably ask players to include in the survey the numbers of bug reports, which they wrote for the mass test.

Thanks for participating in this mass test. Skill points were applied to 359 characters on Singularity as small reward.

Results of the mass test:

  • Client crash issue identified (and hopefully already fixed - should reach Singularity tomorrow)
  • Client and server performance was ok (but the number of participants was a bit lower)
  • Detailed server performance data was gathered, without crashing any nodes Cool The performance data was gathered using Telemetry (see this old devblog from 2011)
  • Several smaller bugs were identified.
