I was in a .6 System mining.... Retriever, nothing in the ore hold.... I noticed a small venture coming in and flying by.
Next thing two guys show up and blow me up. wtf... One guy had -9 security.... I am not whining.... just thought there is police, or concord or something above .5.... What gives??? Once they shot at me, I could not even hit the jump button so quickly I blew up... Is that concord thing a myth??? System was Raneilles....

CONCORD guarantees consequences, but they do not guarantee safety.

If you are un-docked, your ship and pod can be destroyed.

CONCORD will also not respond if:
* You are in a player corp or alliance that has an active ware declaration, and are attacked by a war target.
* You are involved in faction warfare and are attacked by the opposing faction.
* You are in a player corp and are attacked by another member of the same corp.
* You have a suspect or criminal flag.
* You attack a suspect or criminal, and thereby enter limited engagement.

I thought that pirates cannot get past the gates into highsec with such a low standing... And that the risk of being ganked is almost nill in above .5... So the documentation is shmockumentation.... I get it....

Really... how do they get in when they are not supposed to be able?!

Now I have two kill rights.... I don;t even know what to do with that 8)))....
I heard I can give them away.... Anyone want two kill rights???

Anyone can enter high sec, but with -5 sec status it's hard to stay in the same place for an extended period of time without being jumped by the NPC police.

Fly a well tanked Procurer until you are comfortable with game mechanics. And make sure to train for a T2 tank first, before training for T2 mining crystals.

-9? You can remove them from their ships without Concord retaliation everywhere in highsec. No killrights required. Though they will get killrights for you then Lol.

Remove standings and insurance.

It's not that they can't enter the system, it's that the faction police in that system will chase them around and can blow them up if they're caught. CONCORD will only come when there's been an unlawful act of aggression and will destroy the culprit. However, the security status of the system also plays a factor in this. The time from the act of aggression to CONCORD showing up gets longer the lower the security status. In a 0.5 system it's somewhere around 20 seconds if I remember right, with a 1.0 system being a matter of a few seconds.

Just remember, people can go into whichever system they want to want to and nothing will stop them. But, based on standings and security status, their activities/movements within those systems can be hampered. Nobody is ever "truly" safe when they're undocked.

LEARN the mechanics - it's not like a simple google: EVE Online flagging system will list no sites...

CONCORD punishes for non legal offences, it's called being CRIMINAL flagged.

Being lower then -5 just means you are a legal target to anybody, NPC navy hunts you (NPC Navy =/= CONCORD) and most of all, you get a big fat flag on local chat so EVERYBODY can see you entered local, it's called being OUTLAW flagged.

They are 2 TOTALLY different things.

To clarify even further, the lowers you go in sec .9-.5 the more time it takes concord to respond. If I remember right, concord will respond faster in a 1.0 system with more ships then a .5 system Its been YEARS since I have tested this though.

And concord has to warp to the pilot, your -9 can jump around and it will take concord time to respond.

right click the kill right and select 'sell kill rights' this will give bounty hunters a chance to kill the guys who got you. If they are -.9 this is not necessary, but for future reference. Also don't sell them for an ungodly amount, if you want them used, sell it for a price that good for a hunter to grab but might make an alt of the dude with the bounty take pause before buying

Thx for the advice. And no... no whining here. Just was surprised because I interpreted what I read incorrectly. I thought that the patrols at the jump gates would instantly take care of anyone flagged.... This actually leads to interesting new avenues for my alt 8)....

So, one can warp in, then hit and run... I got it. I'll sell the kill rights for one ISK lol...

Btw... I took my covert into that area and it seems that Concord DID engage. The place was full of them. And at least one of the punks got it according to wreck information. lol...

I did not quite get what ship type sank me...... But I blew up in less than a second... splat...

Thanks for all the info. A little less noob!

Look up the guys that you have killrights on on eve-kill.net if you're curious about the ships they were flying.

Also, warping away from CONCORD is technically doable but currently against the EULA, iirc.

Sure, Concord gets them always. There is no escape from that anymore. If one knows how to escape them, it's considered an exploit and he might get a ban for trying it.

Probably Catalysts.

If you want to know more about it, this is a good source.

In 0.6, CONCORD arrive after 16 seconds, IIRC.

If you survive that 16 seconds, the gank fails. If you do not, the gank succeeds.

Compare that to RL police response times - I don't think police would respond inside 16 seconds to an RL assault that happened outside a police station. CONCORD are pretty good at their job. (Not to mention they always get the right person)

Never have you been so wrong my friend.. Besides activating the killrights wouldn't do anything because they are already below -5 which means they are kill on sight targets if they are caught. You would just give them a material to laugh at even more. :))

The only thing you can do against ganking, first acquiring a MP
or tank your ship and stay at your keyboard.

No.

You only get kill rights if you are attacked illegally and don't shoot back.

Uh, no, its not doable. Going GCC in high sec prevents you from warping. The reason that escaping concord is against the EULA is that you have to exploit a bug to do so.

You do know that CCP patched that out A LONG time ago.

Escaping CONCORD isn't possible without exploiting the system.

Ah, learned something from this thread...

Warped into a 0.6 system last night (trying my luck at lower sec systems outside of the newbie areas) and started mining in a venture, there were a few others in retrievers and ventures around, and rapidly found myself chatting with a navy Raven pilot whilst a few other larger ships appeared nearby.

Couldn't work out why I was the focus of so much attention then.... now I know.
