Hello there,

me and a buddy want to learn some small scale pvp by roaming in a 2 man trashgang. (0.0 sec)
Our problem: neither I, nor my buddy know what ships/fittings would serve us best for this kind of work. What?

My friend would create his first Char in eve so he is an absolute newbie and has to learn everything step by step. (Hasnt even choosen a race yet. Are there any to prefere for pvp? Think i can remember that the volley dmg of mimatar can be quite usefull in pvp. what about Amarr? Any disadvantages?)

My Char has got about ~31 Mio points (, mainly in Minmatar Frigs/Cruisers/BC/BS for running missions, but I havent played at all since 2011, so i guess one could say i'm a bit rusty :D

My thoughts so far:
Since none of us has any experience in pvp i thought learning by doing would be best. Thought we could grab some more or less small cheap ships and see how we can do.
Maybe he in a Frig and me in a Destroyer or Cruiser with a fitted webber/scrambler.

What do you guys think?
Would be great if someone could give me a hand with this, since its been such an enormous amount of time since i've played last.

try move your post to "warfare and tactics"

and fw might be a good place to start for small gang stuff, as there's alot of frigates flying around there

There isn't a right answer on this, but off the cuff based on your angling for cheap (and my personal hatred of ECM)...

- Add one Incursus, sprinkle liberally with armor reppers...
- Add one Griffin, kneading in various ECM modules and nanofiber...
- Mix & bake any solo ship you can drop on at 350f
- Don't overcook!

If you want to go to 0.0 i'd really recommend shield cruisers / a kitey frigate.

0.0 gangs usually end up with 123213213 people on top of you.

2 interceptors. Trash the targets you want to trash, avoid everything else.

Nullsec is boring.

Dumpster dive wormholes and smack in local until you see the Archons on d-scan.

:)

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

If you're relatively new I would suggest FW over null

I'd suggest double damp condors for some hilarity but people might not be willing to engage you

Fly a scythe and have your friend fly a tackle frig with scram and web. A scythe with minmatar drone spec V puts out almost 97 dps which combined with a newbie frigates 120ish, you're looking at over 200 which isn't anything to turn your nose up at. Upscale this by adding a third friend with a heavy dps cruiser (blaster thorax/AC rupture) and you have a deadly three man gang that can effectively engage most single targets and many 1-3 man roams.

When I was playing with a newbie friend, we setup an anchorable small bubble on the border between delve and fountain (ZXB/Y-2). It had decent traffic and nearly all of it was solo targets that we could engage with just us two.

That's my friends KB from that month, we setup a can in system and we soon had enough that that when I flew it out with my cloaky hauler I was able to keep him stocked with faction frigates. There isn't a single 'big' kill but module costs making up the majority of the worth of kills (as opposed to the majority of the cost being in the hull) camping gates has never been more profitable.

Definitely a fan of two combat-fit, locally tanked interceptors.
