well im very well used to use a BC for L3s and i have had experience with BSs in L4s, but i dont have the money to cover a new BS for now so i wanted to know if with the las rebalances it has been viable to use a BC to do L4 misions....i know the Drake can get a large buffer with only 2 shield extenders but how about armor ships? and what would be the wanted TDPS for that?

for example this Harbinger fit:

[Harbinger, New Setup 1]
Medium Armor Repairer II
Armor EM Hardener II
Armor Thermic Hardener II
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II

10MN Afterburner II
Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II

Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency M
Medium Diminishing Power System Drain I

Medium Energy Collision Accelerator I
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I

Hobgoblin I x5
Hammerhead I x5

625 DPS with hammerheads , the nos module well i dont know if it works with rats but uniwiki says rats have infinite cap or something like that

the other is:

[Prophecy, New Setup 1]
Medium Armor Repairer II
Armor EM Hardener II
Armor Thermic Hardener II
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

10MN Afterburner II
Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II

Heavy Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Multifrequency M
Heavy Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Multifrequency M
Heavy Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Multifrequency M
Heavy Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Multifrequency M
Medium Diminishing Power System Drain I

Medium Energy Collision Accelerator I
Medium Energy Collision Accelerator I

Hobgoblin I x5
Hammerhead I x5
Ogre I x3
Warrior I x3
Valkyrie I x5

518 with ogres, is the most it gets...

another option i was looking was using an ABC:

[Oracle, New Setup 1]
Medium Armor Repairer II
Armor EM Hardener II
Armor Thermic Hardener II
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II

10MN Afterburner II
Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II

Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Multifrequency L
Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Multifrequency L
Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Multifrequency L
Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Multifrequency L
Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Multifrequency L
Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Multifrequency L
Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Multifrequency L
Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Multifrequency L

Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I

but im worried that the Oracle doesnt survive, specially against frigate rats.....

i can fly all T1 subcaps but wanted to cover amarr ships first, could one of those work for L4s? or should i just save some money for an BS again?, need to optimize the isk.....

The oracle will take a lot of knowledge to keep alive. Prophecy I have used for L4s, its fine.

Though my setup had a cap booster, sentry drones and 2 omnis.

but the repping would be enough? im worried about the damage.....should i go with a double repping setup?, it would gimp my DPS but would allow me to tank the rats......

Run level 3s until you can afford a battleship. You'll make more money running 3s in a BC than you will running 4s in a BC that can only just barely break the tank on rats.

My advice its :
Dont use a BC in lvl 4 miss
Its waste of time and in eve, time = isk

But if you dont have a Bs use a bc harby will do a nice job

1 rep 1adaptive and hardners for rats type dmg

Pulse weps cap rechargers rigs for cap also and with guns and rep on you should be ok.

You can run LV4's in a BC but it's not exactly what you would call fast. I used to do it in a Drake, than a Nighthawk years ago before they did all those changes to HML's and to those ships. I can tell you it was quite slow, but I was able to swap to FoF missiles than walk away and make a sandwhich and come back to resume mission running. That was my only perk of not flying a BS now that I look back.

If your skills are good you can make more money in lv4s than lv3s even in a BC. If your skills are bad-acceptable than I stick with lv3s. Realistically though a BS will be a big step up in performance for lv4's so if you can rush through a bunch of lv3's and pick up a BS.

Welcome to Eve. Everyone here is an Evil Sick Sadistic Bastard who is out to get you. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trying to scam you or use you.

ive run some missions in an oracle fitted with tachyons. it can be done for some missions but not all. you need an mwd and after arriving in the first room you have to burn away from the rats. if you get webbed you lose your ship. if you manage to get 100km away from the rats the rest is easy.

but that was before the mjd was invented so its much more easy now to do the same with a battleship

You don't have Tech 2 scout drones in your setup so presumably you don't have the skills for them.

I would get Tech 2 scout drones and Drone Interface 4 (3 if your confident) before doing a Level 4, cos if you screw up and have to bail out quickly, you need to be able to kill the frig that is scamming you asap.

Plenty of BC's can tank L4's they just won't have quite the DPS of a BS so will do it slower eg 1hr or more that a high skilled guy in a pimped ship does in 10-15mins.

Join a proper corp that can help you out with a BS. Also go run some lvl 4's with another player and keep the salvage and you will very quickly have enough for a bs..

Don't use a geddon for l4s.
Apoc with micro jump drive and beams is much better for a new player. Jump out and shoot stuff as it burns towards you. Not really the fastest way to do l4s but definitely the safest way. (apart from bringing some friends)

Yes, you can do L4's with a BC but you need reasonable skills and (what some of the vets often forget) some experience. If you shoot the triggers too soon or make other piloting mistakes you will die.

I have run level IVs in both the Ammar BC.

The Prophecy is a touch slow and struggles with the bigger ones but survives OK its a brick. If you don't mind sticking to the "easier" IVs and taking at least 50% longer to complete a Prophecy can manage it.

The Harbinger on the other hand truly sux at level IVs its not up to at all. Do not do it. if you are flying a Harbinger you are better off blitzing level IIIs.

This , and the blockade is a tough one for a low sp battle ship. Especially the one you used. Avoid the score as well, simple if you know it, you would struggle with it if not.

It is a rather notorious mission...

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

highs:

mega modulated pulse energy beam x5

meds:

100mn AB II
Cap Recharger x3

lows:

Larger armor repairer II
armor EM Hardener II
armor Thermic Hardener II
Adaptative Nanoplating II
DDA II x3

rigs:

Large Energy Collision Acelerator I
Large CCC I x2

guess i needed more tank, a double repping setup should have been better......

If you are having that much trouble with level 4's (I saw your post in the WH forum, and it mentioned losing several BS's), the best thing to do would be to avoid any blockade, extravaganza, Assault, or similarly difficult mission, at least for the moment.

I'm not big on Drone BS's, so I can't give much advise on a geddon fit, but I would say to try using a MJD. A friend of mine who I helped out for a while was able to run level 4's successfully in a Rokh I loaned him when he was about 2 months old. His completion times were not especially great, but the MJD reduces risk as you can just warp out when in trouble.

If you are losing multiple BS's, to the point that you can't afford to replace them, you are doing something wrong. I've lost one BS in my 2 years of mission running. (A Raven on Attack of the Drones - I don't like looking at guides until after I've done a mission, and the spawns on that one were an amusing surprise... My drones were out when I triggered all 4 spawns at almost the same time.)

Edit: Or just stick with level 3's....

MJD means scrams are no longer deadly. Also sniping from range pretty much means only Guristas (World's Gurista room is nasty with low SP) and the odd cruise/torpedo special character like Zor can even hit you.
