East coast Australia and I had issues logging in last night got in eventually but it took multiple attempts.

Again tonight I cannot log in get past the toon selection screen but then it takes a minute and boom connection closed

This issue is not regional it is happening everywhere and is a flow on effect of the DDoS

Hopefully CCP gets it sorted soon it is very frustrating

Most DDoS attacks comprise of SYN Floods.

SYN floods are intended to overload the network stack of the targeted host, not saturate its bandwidth. Most providers mitigate those these days so they're not even used anymore. These days it's usually bruteforce UDP floods from botnets or CC frauded servers, and some of the nastier ones are, as you said, reflected from poorly configured public DNS resolvers and NTP servers.

Had the "black screen of death' trying to connect earlier today.
Then was working fine for about 4 hours.
Now, none of my characters can log in.

On East Coast, US.
sigh .....

Now getting: "Connection Lost." "The socket was closed" .
Anyone else getting this?
Have run the repair tool twice, rebooted twice, even reset my dsl and cleared all cache.
Ongoing issues since 3/1 on this.

Stop whining. Maybe they are working on the problem and don't have time to come here to listen to your crap...

Stop being so melodramatic, firstly it's the weekend, you know that time of the week when most people have a couple of days off to spend with their family, I don't doubt CCP have some people trying to mitigate it, bearing in mind that the server is in London, while the majority of CCP staff aren't. Secondly CCP aren't the only ones being affected by the current DDOS attacks, and they're certainly not the biggest company being hit by them.

They'd have to go an awful lot further to compete with EA on the "look how f'king terrible we are" stakes, CCP at least listen to the customers somewhat.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I guess sarcasm is hard to detect in type, it was meant as a joke (note the smiley face at the end).

That said, it'd still be nice to hear something/anything from them.

lol @ "somewhat"....

I'd just like to be reimbursed for the SPs I'm losing since I can't get back in and update my Queue :)

They've done SP reimbursements in the past for similar events so it's not outside the realms of possibility.

Ok.

This is Odd, but might help someone else.

I logged into my next door neighbors wifi network (same ISP, but different WAN IP obviously), fired up EVE and *POOF* it works like magic.

Dunno why I didn't try this sooner..

My internet still doesn't work for EVE though, weird.

EDIT: About 20 minutes online and my socket was closed, but I got to update my skill queue at least.

Can't happen.

CCP isn't American.

Also, none of your connection issues are CCP's fault, and it takes a lot more than just connection issues, occasionally, to get called "the worst company" of anywhere. You're overreacting.

Twice needed to login to Jita, twice had to keep pressing damned login button in order to get into Jita for 5 minutes and twice got Socket closed right after I finally logged in, wonderful.

Are people still having problems?

Was able to log in with my main but my second account get the same socket closed error I was getting last night. I'd hate to log out with my main to find I can't log back in.... Just used CCPs 4 hour activation to use a PLEX for my second account but I can't get it logged in.

Just curious if this is a problem on my end now or if others are still experiencing what was happening to me yesterday. What?
