The corpses of the fallen litter the heavens, left forever to drift among the frozen sea of stars.
So listless in their frost bound state, the wailing of their souls rings out like a silent echo.

But why?

Why do you fight, capsuleer? What is your motivation?

Is it for God? For wealth and glory? For a better understanding of the world and its cruel ways?

You might want to be more specific in who you are asking. Those involved in the militias? Those working for agents of one corporation or another? Those who merely defend themselves while attempting to develop their industry? Who?

Why?

As rote as it sounds. I fly for the State.

However, the State, to me, is not the Deksam, nor the CEO's. It is the Caldari people. I fly against those who would threaten the worker, the merchant and the cook, without expectations of fanfare or even acknowledgement. I fly and fight for my crew, who serve the State as I do, yet without the comfort of immortality. I fight so they may do their duty and come home alive.

In the end, I fight because I feel someone must. While the pilots at the front see to the battles in Black Rise, I take on the threats that many feel are beneath them, because if everyone passed them over in search of glory or the Good Fight, to who, then, does the burden fall?

I fight for my 'family' because they ask me to. Simple.

If it wasn't for them I'd probably have been found r*ped, murdered or starved to death in a Caille gutter years ago.

To promote the interests of the State in an arena where the full power of the Navy can't be brought to bear due to diplomatic reasons.

Outsiders may view it as a worthless and futile endeavor. Taking systems one month to lose them the next. But there's a deeper war going on. The gains and losses aren't for nothing, and there's more on the line than anyone outside could imagine.

Mostly due to defense or denying intelligence of a potential threat. easier to cut off scouts head to keep them from having information superiority and other times to make a point to demoralize potential threat.

Personally i don't enjoy killing that much so it's a necessary evil in order to maintain safety of Origin and its people.

I fight for the adventure. There is nothing more thrilling than seeking out my next target and leaving a trail of wreckage in my wake, knowing that every victory just increases my capacity for destruction. I was built for war from a young age. It is what I am good at, what I enjoy, what keeps me functioning. Just as a musician must perform his favorite piece, I feel compelled to pump round after round and volley after volley into a target until it is sufficiently reduced to slag. Just as an artist strives for perfection in their medium, I strive to reach higher magnitudes of obliteration.

I don't much care how I fill that void. I'd like to think I can justify my behavior by claiming that my blood lust indirectly helps the State, but I'm not so sure of that claim when I find myself bombarding civilian populations. I've been tempted to start taking up contracts from Pirate organizations, baring witness to new and exotic ways of reaching victory and celebrating afterwards. Any way of getting me my next fix in a new, powerful way is all I need to keep me fighting.

If I'm being honest, it scares me when I think about all of this. I usually just force it deep down in the darkest part of me while I tuck my shirt in and pretend that I belong with the rest of civilization.

And you have always done us proud.

Our family has always fought for the simple reason of countering threats. Sometimes in a reactionary style and often proactively. There is much to be said for pre-emptive strikes, even on targets that don't necessarily present a direct threat. Even the murder of industrialists can not only help dissuade their pilots from transgressing in your system, but also pad your kill records to aid in dissuading aggression against yourself.

So in essence for us every fight is helping counter threats, either directly or indirectly.

There is no one reason for war and violence. If there were, the human races would have found it and removed it thousands of years ago. Capsuleers are not an exception.

As to why Minmatar loyalists fight, I find it rather presumptions for a PIE Inc member to inquire about it. May I suggest that if it is not clear for you yet, you might schedule a private chat about it with Lord Admiral Gaven Lok'ri? Unfortunately, it seems that he has a pretty good clue about the international politics.

I suspect that you already know the correct answer: we fight because God has commanded us to go forth and Reclaim that which He has given. And he has given us everything. The Minmatar, the Gallente, the Jove, CONCORD, ORE, the Sisters of EVE — all of it is given to us.

Think about it. The question "Why?" is, in my opinion, one of the most profound questions that humanity ever asks itself. There are countless answers, as God created each person to be different. But it is the basis of understanding.

For some, the answer is obvious. For others, perhaps not as much.

My answer is that I fight for God, for the Empress, and for the Amarrian people.

But I don't fight. I just promote the fighting. It's good for the economy.

Why do I fight? Because it is my duty to fight.
I have grown in the State, and all my life, that I can remember, I was training to fight. I have been prepared for this, and it became my destiny. And since for everything I have, including my life, I owe to the State, I must serve my duty to the State.

Here in the State we fight for each other. For those, who stand at your side and hold weapons like you. Because in the end, it is they, who are the State. They, who deliver will of the State to those, who oppose us. All citizens of the State are soldiers. We all are prepared to fight and hold weapons to protect the State... to protect each other.

I fight, because my skills in fighting are greater than in any other field. In meritocratic society as ours, it means I will bring most profit in the battlefield. And thus it is my duty to do so. The State trained me not to grow wheat, catch fish or sit behind office desk, comparing income with expenditure. But to fight. And thus, I must fight.

And I fight.

I fight to protect our homes. I fight for our farmers to continue growing food for our peoples. I fight for workers stayed at their workplaces. I fight for office worker to not see destroyed buildings and blood spilled on floor. I fight for our children to not sit in trenches holding guns instead of us. I fight for out daughters not become exotic dancers in gallentean bars. I fight for our culture to live past us. I fight for out people to organize our society as we want to, and not as gallenteans tried to force us to. I fight for our State to be strong. I fight for our citizens to work and contribute to society they live in, an not for paying excessive taxes into pockets of greedy and lazy gallentean beurocrates. I fight for future of Caldari children. I fight for land, that belonged to our ancestsrs. I fight for assets, that were earned with blood and sweat of Caldari people.

And I fight, because It is my duty to fight.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.
