i still have connection issue here in italy, the weird thing is that i can log in with my secondary character and not with the primary. "The socket was closed"

I've been having the same issue all morning. I managed to get one of my alts logged in with no problems but wasn't able to get either of my other toons logged on. Also the website is having issues. I managed to log my main into the website to respond to this thread only to have a "This page can't be displayed" when trying to reply here. Which has now happened many times. >.<

What I've noticed:

The launcher is behaving oddly. After inputting my credentials and hitting enter nothing happens for an extended period of time. Several minutes at times. Many times, after a few minutes, the launcher window clears all the content leaving just the back ground. A few times the eve client window has opened but its just black. After another minute or two I get a "Socket is closed" message. I have done this many times over the course of several hours. Usually after hitting enter it almost instantly begins loading Eve.

From what I've experienced trying to post this message this problem could be more wide spread than what people have managed to report. It has taken me better than 5 minutes just to get to the point where I can reply to this thread. Normally I would have just given up by now, but its Saturday after all. :)
I made it to the input form and copied my this post over. Only after hitting post I received more "this page can't be displayed" messages.

Please look into this further. I have skills that need to be updated. ;-)

DDOS attacks like this can be pretty difficult to mitigate. People need to patch their servers to stop this NTP nonsense.

:edit: BTW, NW US and I haven't noticed any issues today with the site, launcher, or game. Others obviously are, but it sounds like this particular outage may be regional. It might be helpful to post your location if you're having problems so CCP can isolate them.

I couldn't logon the main, tried an alt and it worked long enough for me to submit a ticket. People online suggested to run the repair tool and since i had nothing better to try i did. Trying to log back in after, it wouldn't let either character on.

I can see 40+k happy people online but have the problems others have reported where I cant get in game myself. Seems strange how some people get in no problem while others no chance.

I understand CCP need to sort the problem out but someone should be allocated to spend a few moments to explain whats going on so the unhappy people who pay their wages have some idea whats going on

CCP doesn't care to have people working on the weekend. Costs them money or something and since you pay up front, they're laughing at us right now.

The DDoS was yesterday, this is bullshit those people are too lazy to pick up or to give any acknowledgement to.

Like with others i also get the socket closed message when i attempt to log in.
Get far enough to get the pop up message saying i have notifications, stays on black screen and then socket closed.

Had no issues last night, this started today.
Forums seems to also be affected, being very slow and sometimes not loading at all.

Repair tool fixed the issue for me.
However a corp member had to do a full reinstall so guess its a bit hit and miss.

*Edit 2
Having to log for a while and then attempting to log on causes the same issues, and repair tool does not correct it this time.

Forums also seem to be getting worse.

I think there are still side effects from that....I'm having issues loading characters and logging in...

Likewise, on all of my accounts. The forums are taking forever to load anything also, not even sure if this reply will get posted.

this IS aggravating.

I cannot log in today either (black screen after character selection) and I seem to be having the same problem as everyone else.

Also on my laptop(the one i normally play eve with) I cannot post replies on the forums, log into Eve account management, submit a support ticket, et cetera.

I finally tried this on a desktop computer on the same network as my laptop and for whatever reason everything works normally.

I'd love to hear a DEV/GM comment to any of us having the same issues.


Soo far I've run the repair tool numerous times, ended up uninstalling/reinstalling Eve Client completely, still be broken.

It's the weekend, they're probably running a skeleton staff. We'll probably see some sort of Dev response on Monday when everybody is back at work.

East Coast US is working fine. Just finished a 2 hour session and theres around 36,000 people logged in.

Launching 5 accounts from the exe file and no delay.

Pain is inevitable, but the suffering is optional.
