I'm too afraid to go out and rat because I may randomly not respond and end up relogging in my pod. I've sat there and mined for countless minutes only to realize I stopped responding and collected no ore. Same with gathering loot from missions, it appears to be in my cargo hold but I re log back in and I'm in the middle of a warp to the mission site where nothing has been killed. Hope this issue gets fixed soon. I've just returned to Eve about a month ago and this issue really turns me off to renewing my subscription again. I'm not willing to pay to play a game that is nearly unplayable right now.

Step by step guide to what causes this issue could contain of anything. I heard of people saying it happens when you open the "fitting screen" but I've had it happen out of the blue while doing just about anything. I can't give you a definite way to replicate this problem.

I have yet to find any work around, if I had I would not be posting this.

Same issues here. Cant even get a mission done. every 5-10min it just hangs ....

I am having the same issues. I have been playing EVE since 2005, in 2010 I bought an Apple IMAC and ha problems from the sat, I persevered for three years and last year I cancelled my account. I re-activated my account one week ago, as I thought they would have made the game more MAC friendly, but now I think it,s worse. If it is still the same by end of month I think I will cancel account again. I will not change my computer, I like MACS, but EVE does not.

Hello, just purchased a new macbook air.

1.3mhz i5
4gb ram
OSX 10.9.1

I'm having a difficult time downloading the client, I downloaded the latest dmg file. However after installing it gives me an error message then deletes the app from the application folder. I re-download thinking it might be the dmg file and it gets me the same results.

Is there another version I can try installing? Then updating to the latest patch? Anyone else experiencing this problem?

MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2010
2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Nvidia GeForce 320M 256MB
150GB Kingmax SSD

I too was having the problem on with the Mac client freezing when docking or undocking. Something seems to be going one when loading the data around the stations. For me it seems to be any station this can happen at. I am on OS X 10.9.1.

There is a new security setting you need to turn off to install the client. Why CCP has not figured out how to fix this issue I have no idea. It can be found in the system preferences under security and privacy in the general tab. you have to click the lock symbol in the bottom left corner to make the changes. That should allow you to install and patch the game.

Still freezing, no fix, no refund. I gave you over two weeks to fix the issue, you didn't. I asked for a refund and now it's been over a week since you replied. What am I to think? If you can't fix the game, give me my money back. It's really that simple.

UI Freezes

I have played EVE for years and am used to the freezes and other game play issues. After a hiatus am back with Rubicon.
Daily freezes are part of the game play and have not been a problem until 4 days ago.

UI decided to freeze on warp in to "Attack of the Drones 4".

It was a cinematic marvel to watch my Geddon chewed apart by evil drones. And a UI that would not respond.
I actually had an out of body experience while I was trying to figure out why I could not target, fire, move, or warp.
My Mac did not freeze, only the windowed mode EvE client.

So a Ticket for assistance and compensation. Four days and still waiting.

Would like to see EvE take the Mac community more seriously and press for action and change. These issues are some of the same as when I started playing in 2007.

My last contact with them via support ticket was on February 19th. 10 days ago.

I'm convinced they are just ignoring the issue and hoping that people give up trying to get their problem rectified. At some point, people will feel that the time they are wasting trying to get compensation/refund is outweighing the refund itself.

=================

I hope mine doesn't take that long. Just began to play again tonight after waiting for 4 days....now into day 5. And again....warping in Dresi and I froze. The usual.

Trying to stay active doing 'Distribution' missions, as I wait for compensation of my ship and equipment. Cry I refuse to spend my ISK on a new rigged ship and equipment when the UI is as fault. And with my luck....I will get compensation and then have the UI mess up again in mission.

Eve authentication is a major thorn in my side still - despite an answer from GM Akilian - sort of a generic response to everyone having 'hanging' issues... saying it was fixed as of downtime on 3rd Mar 2014...
It can still take upward of 15 minutes to log in an account at times since this purported fix! I just don't see myself having the desire to play any more if CCP can't pull there finger out. Compound this with the Open GL issues with Dodixie Fed Navy main trade hub (and all Gallente Industrial stations due to station graphics mods) that cause my sessions and machine to lock up.
I need to see some sort of diagnostic messages in the Console so I can work out just what the hell is going wrong with the authentication.. I tried disabling the voice on all 6 of my accounts today - after having seen no malware or anything out of ordinary from a tcpdump - only thing I saw was vivix.com. Still calling no joy.
I do see this in the logs in regards to the launcher though:
The function `CGFontSetShouldUseMulticache' is obsolete and will be removed in an upcoming update. Unfortunately, this application, or a library it uses, is using this obsolete function, and is thereby contributing to an overall degradation of system performance.

Well I went back to using clone maker. The new Eve launcher is a real piece of ****. I will only use it in the future to download updates and run every alt off clones - as the install without the old style login - which I take is a desktop app - vs a web based app results in almost instantaneous logins. The launcher 80% of time won't even permit a single account login with no other apps running.

The really worst part of all this is I have to do the UI setup across 18 alt- which needs a template that others can clone from too. Setting up 18 alts sucks! And I can't use the 6 account/18 alts setups from the launcher when I clone either.

Same. The ticking of the clock....the stippling of ice sleet on the window....the snoring of the dog. And day 6 rolls into day 7.

Same issue here as above with the GUI freezing. Macbook Pro Retina using external cinema display.
This happens for me both out in space and also in stations, regardless of which ones. Most often happens when I am not active in the client for more than a few minutes, but sometimes happens when opening various windows within client.

Getting very annoying!!! Is also very frustrating that others are experiencing this, for so long, without any solutions or ideas from CCP. We are all, after all, paying money for this game, so one would expect a certain level of quality or response from CCP development and support.

Hoping to see some answers soon!

Yup. This is another account I have, with Vex Eriker, and I just downloaded the patch today. I froze within 1 minute.

It's almost laughable now. They don't even care to try to fix it, just collecting that money.

Mac OS X
Version 10.6.8

I am not able to play eve on my macbook for 11 months. It was okay until Rubicon (as far as I remember). Since then I could not started the game. Anyway, I uninstalled the client maybe 6-7 times so far.

Here is the issue:

After I click on "play", the client says "launching" for 10-15 seconds, then turns back to "play." There is no way to start the game at all. I believe that the problem mac users are having is related to python, but I have no enough knowledge about how to fix such things. I hope that cpp will fix the problem in 10 days. Otherwise, I will not buy any plex and let my char to die forever.

Quite some time ago, the minimum requirements for the Mac client were bumped up to Mac OS X 10.7.5.
