I have been saying since the introduction of TiDi that people should not be able to exploit the time mechanics.

A recent Jeffraider interview on Evenews24 raises the issue.

I have said in the past and say again and contiue to say that the best fix for tidi dogpiles is to hold pilots from jumping into a tidi effected system until the systems time has caught up with the out of system time.

Just keep the pilots in a warp tunnel while the clocks sync. Doesnt matter whether you use gates or cynos etc. Just hold them until they are at the same time as the tidi system.

This will prevent a significant amount of the unfair force projection.

TiDi is a failed process but it is the best process we have atm.

So what... you expect people to sit in warp tunnels for what can, and probably would be, hours on end? What?

Edit: Also, this would also mean whoever gets into system first wins. That's exactly what TiDi is meant to stop.

You've really not thought this through, have you?

Maybe a digital pooper scooper would be easier.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I have only had it happen when the node burning drone clouds are deployed. With the incoming nerfs this wont be an issue anymore.

well thought through. Jumping through a gate into a TiDi system is the same as jumping back into time.

That should not be possible. So yes if you want to join a fight in a TiDi sysme get there when it starts or wait till time catches up and join in.

There is no way pilots from the future should be able to effect a fight that technically occured in the past.

And if you cannot understand that then you are the lolz.

HED was bad for this, but ive also had this happen during a save of a rzr csaa, jumping through venal randomly got stuck for well over an hour in a jump tunnel.. that was bad, and really dam annoying as was just 1 fleet within 10 jumps and we were all screwed over by this.

id rather have a loading bar than the jump tunnel, that is just me though.

OK, so under your "well thought through" proposal:

Attacking Alliance jumps/gates into target system.
Attacking Alliance 'fills up' local to kick in TiDi.
Defending Alliance get the call to arms to defend target system.
Defending Alliance tries to jump/gate into target system.
Defending Alliance sit in warp tunnel.
Attacking Alliance happily reinforce/kill every structure in system unchallenged.
Defending Alliance still sat in warp tunnel.
Attacking Alliance keep their numbers in system until downtime to keep TiDi active.
Defending Alliance still sat in warp tunnel.
DOWNTIME
Attacking Alliance mass logon to kick in TiDi again.
Defending Alliance try to get in, but still sat in warp tunnel.

Do I really need to say any more?

Which for some reason is worse the then the side with the most people and time to dedicate to the fight always winning? Roll

Something related to this, jumping in enough ships at the same time to cause TiDi within seconds is another absolutely horrible game mechanic.

Well with TiDi there is at least a chance rather than Trit's one sided proposal.

Arnt you going to get banned for copy and pasting from the CFC book of "ways to win without trying as we have a monopoly veiled by renters and standings"?

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

So first in wins?
We already have that now, you spend three-four hours in a warp tunnel....

Assuming we keep the bad instant teleport mechanics of EVE, yes the first in wins ONE system, as opposed one coalition owning EVERY system.

Lol

21B depends on what value you place to the mods and ship lost.

Besides how does getting high sec freighter ganked by the best mercs in the gang make me anyless knowledgeable?

Not like I aloded or accepted a concentual fight or got jitagoonscammed.

With the proposed mechanics, they actually will own every system since there is no way to defend against them.

The OP's idea is horrible and doesn't even address any kind of problem.

So you think that entering a fight that was over before you even got there timeline wise is the way it should work?

How the fook did you get 20k likes?

I think that being able to join a fight in progress is how it should work, yes.
I don't think that you should be able to arbitrarily and trivially lock other players out of the game to make any kind of opposition impossible, because that's a pretty stupid and gameplay-defeating idea.
