One of the worst things the Westboro church does is protest at funerals. Most of us, even if we're fairly psychopathic evil bastards in-game, know when to stop, know to respect the dead no matter who they are, know the difference between EVE and the people who play it.

That's why Sorry We're In Your Space Eh (-EH-) have earned a comparison to that despicable church for gate camping the vigil held for Shane Roderick tonight, repeatedly refusing to lift the camp when politely asked to. 'we dont care' they said, 'its a game'.

I can't tell people what to do about this, but I hope people agree this is utterly intolerable, unacceptable and unforgivable behaviour. All I can ask is you reconsider if you really want to be associated with such people, and when you do grind their faces into the ground instead, tell them you don't care, tell them it's just a game, tell them RIP Shane.

I would like to point out that Black Legion and Test Alliance Please Ignore attended our vigil to Shane, and they are -EH- allies.

Even they attended. They did not camp, fire or violence anyones boats until the thunderdome was called.

Game or not, some things are just in poor taste. I consider my corpmates friends, and if a virtual remembrance is all I was able to attend, I would do so.

Poor taste is a simple matter of personal opinion. apparently you didn't get the "sandbox" memo in regards to the mechanics to the game. Griefing is a big part of this game and a big source of income for ccp.


Looks like you did manage to find a few sympathetic shoulders to cry on though, albeit not much. If you don't want to loose it don't fly it ;)

though this does not compare to westboro baptist it is stilla tragic loss to his family, and these pilots should be tought a lesson! in game you must have respect! i have mant war targets and i like to hunt but i would not interfere with something that was being done out of respect for the dead! comparing them to westboro ... no calling them assholes... yes

Again we're getting back to that sand box idea and personal opinions. The camp and the use of nullsec as a place to conduct a make believe funeral was truly a darwin moment.


In regards to the mechanics of this game and what players can do in it, let me put it another way: did you really think you could call up the devil then ask him to behave?

Everyone in this game is psych tbh. But in RL and in game, there are some things you simply don't **** with. An in game funeral for some who died in the real world is one of those things.
