Drones and hotkeys a request

I am just spitballing but since I can assign hotkeys for my drones to:

Engage a target
Return and Orbit
and Return to bay

It would be nice if the launch drones option was added to be assigned to a hotkey, I mean it is there in the drone options already.

(note: other drone commands could also be added)

What drones?

Have you taken into account that some ships in EVE are able to carry many drones?

I've found myself carrying a wave of light, medium, heavy, sentry, and armor rep drones at the same time - quite often. I've heard so many people ask for this feature, but none of them are able to answer this question.

I have the feeling that the reason we do not have a "launch drones" hotkey is for this very reason. Bro, do you even Gallente? :P

Yes and the system allows you to:

right click dronebay and select the option launch drones
which then launches a random bunch regardless of grouping

I am not asking for a new system in place for drone control I simply want that extant option linked to a hotkey

Oh and I do Gallente, I also do Minmatar, Amarr and Caldari not sure why that is relevant though.

So I am going to counter you with a why should the existing launch drones option not be accessible via a hotkey?

I can already fire/reload all my guns/launchers via hotkeys so why should drones be different?

Create group, assign group to high power slot (maybe a secondary function of the drone range high slot thing).

That is a good idea! That would neatly solve the which drones to launch hot key issue. Well done!

OP, you can already assign your drones to groups so that you can control which ones to launch. Right click-create group

I am aware of this :)

Though this is in danger of veering off track...

all I want is an existing command to be hotkey assignable, beyond that drone group control is a separate issue
