This is only a vague idea, but I wanted to know if other people thought it was worth anything.

What if faction modules performed better when equipped to the corresponding faction ships?

Example
Imperial Navy energized adaptive nano membrane was designed, built and optimized with Imperial Navy ships in mind. Therefore they provide an extra 1% resistance across the board when fitted to Imperial Navy ships.

shhhh, they might nerf the mods so that the current faction ships have the same bonuses when fitting them as they do now, but to everyone else they're less effective.

Get some Eve. Make it yours.

People have suggested it before.

Its a terrible idea.
Its a cool idea that would be really terrible if implemented.

Loot pinatas everywhere.
When missioners use full GIST sets just for the bonuses.


Though this might be cool for faction weapons, and only weapons, just to give them some use over T2. Since they don't have specialization perhaps a "1% set bonus per grouped faction weapon" might even it out.

I'm in favor of diversity. We should try and avoid encouraging ships to be homogeneous as much as possible to retain outside of the box thinking and unique fittings.
