LowSec Anom Questions

I have a character in FW. I am always in pvp ships and at a risk for pvp. I stumble across these things on occasion in low sec. I have killed the rats in a few easy ones "Looted Guristas Thingamajiggy." The bounties were pretty crap, but hey its something to do when there are no targets around. A long time ago I used to run one in a tristan that would occasionally drop a small coreli c-type repper. However, it has literally been years since I have run any pve content that wasnt a rescue mission. I will be frank and say that I can no longer tell the difference between a rated and unrated anom (though I believe you have to probe for rated ones). I have read the guides in Evelopedia, but its still unclear to me how some unrated anomolies have to be found with your scanner, and some just show up in space. I cant tell the difference between the two.

Anyway, are these anomolies that just show up in space or on the sig-scanner worth doing? I assume even in the cruddy ones there is a chance for a faction-loot rat? Are they doable in a pvp fit cruiser? I have a dusty pve fit Ishtar somewhere, but I dont really care to fly that around. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

There used be be static ded1s complexes in lowsec, but CCP removed them a while ago. The one you are thinking of was the serpentis drug outlet, it can be found occasionally in random locations via probing (ie it is no longer static, it is now a signature).

Anomolies were also changed to just "appear" when you open the scanner, and Signatures were changed to "just appear" when you open the scanner, but with no signal strength.

as far as worth doing - its a maybe. IMO the first time you do any particular ded plex, its nice to do it as an escalation, as that makes it harder for other players to attack you than a public sig, which makes it easier to learn.

anomolies escalate very rarely, some are farmable, some aren't. As its lowsec and they don't auto respawn, you either have to move about to chase the ones you want, or take whatever spawns, whenever it spawns. They work -better- as a strategy in nullsec, since we can respawn them via arrays (the exception to that rule is the highsec den, because of the pecularities of where it can pile up in mass numbers).

If you have nothing to do at all, a plain den, plain port, and plain hub all have reasonable escalation chances (~1 in 25 completed anoms), and none are difficult. I'd expect the yard has reasonable escalation chance, but in the 20 or so I've done, it never did - and I'd have to make special efforts to find and farm them to study them, as they are lowsec only.

The named are prone to having difficult spawns, and low escalation chances. Serpentis rally point I would presume goes to the very hard logistics outpost -> sennans tip chain (similar deal with angels), for other races they go to the far more reasonable ded 6s, but have very low escalation chances.
