Killing time running stuffs in and out of a busy trade hub and setting up trade orders... and for some reason I found myself perusing the local chat.

*Facepalm.* Doesn't do much for my faith in humanity that's for sure....

Ill-informed political statements, ego-maniacal and immature rants, whiners, those stupid enough to try to make it stop, all sandwiched in between a steady stream of ridiculous scam spam that apparently somewhere in the universe people are stupid enough to fall for else I gotta believe they'd do something different with their time....

Just block all the scammers and spammers and wannabe philosphers/evangelists/activists and all will be peaceful. You may even find some interesting conversations show up that previously were hidden in amongst the rubbish.

So having discovered this about Local Chat, you came to General Discussion?

Are you in for a World of hurt. Local Chat begins to look like the Oxford Alumni after spending a bit of time here.

True enough. Though my pointless observation seems to be general enough. Didn't we just go through some metaphysical crap about "what is general discussion" the other day? I like the Oxford Alumni reference tho... +1 for originality.

Only thing worse than political/religious/social rants in chats are the people that feel the need to publicly object this kind of posting, to publicly inform other people they are "blocked", to brownnose non-whitebreads (ISDs and up) and to snitch.
