Flowers vs Rabbits?

Visited Mum's grave yesterday to have a chat to Mum and tell her all the news, and I saw that nearly all the carnations that I took on the 14th have been eaten, as has happened several times now. X

Anyone know which flowers rabbits don't like, as I don't want to take and leave bunny food anymore, and will starve the buggers away from Mum. Once bunny has gone to some other grave for lunch, I can see about getting something to deter the dam Badgers. X

Hello,

I just did a quick google search and in no way have a green thumb but i came across this site Link I hope you find it useful.

On another note, it's not ideal but have you thought about using Faux plants instead?

I don't know if they're avaible in your country, but Chrysants are a popular flowerplant for graves here in Belgium. They don't seem to attract rabbits either. (Wikilink: Chrysants )

They're also very beautiful flowers to see and long lasting without needing much attendance.

I suppose rabbit poison would be in poor taste?

Personally I place lanterns. They have yet to be eaten.

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

Thanks for the link and replies.

I've bookmarked the link to write down a list of bunny proof flowers for the next time I go to buy flowers at Sainsbury's on my way to Mum, and yes, I can get Chrysanthemum's, as I've bought them a few times, and bunny just seems to have a little nibble of a few petals before bunny moves along.

FWIW I've found by looking at other graves that bunny doesn't seem to like Daffodils, or Roses, OR Tulips. Yeah for the Dutch. Big smile, so I'll be getting them instead of Carnations - that Mum used to like.

Rabbit poison AFAIK is illegal here in Britain.

Yes I have thought of artificial flowers, as a lot of flowers around Mum are artificial, but its just not the same or as thoughtful as real flowers. And I've never seen lanterns for sales here.

I certainly hope that's not all that's stopping you.

Grave Lanterns

I place one down on my mothers grave at all hallows eve. It burns for several days. Then on her birthday two months later I pick up the lantern and clean the grave. Then next year I place down the lantern again with a new candle.

And maybe you could bring something for the rabbits to eat instead of the flowers? Some spinach or something, nice to eat in the winter. Keep everything happy and positive for everybody. Smile

Rabbits ate your flowers? Time to eat the rabbit. Cool
