I always liked the fact that you couldn't change your name.

When you're stuck with everyone knowing who you are, how you conduct yourself becomes marginally more relevant, assuming you don't buy and sell your toons yearly. I wonder if name changes were ever instituted as a paid option, it would be like Steam where you can see all the names any given character has had.

Perhaps adding your characters full name to BIO would make you happier? Like Jeff "Bidermaier" Bosch. Either way, EVE no name change policy is great and it adds a lot to gameplay. Or you can PLEX train alt. Have your Bidermaier "support" new characters training ISK wise and switch mains.

Jeff has certainly made a name for himself. I can see why he wants to change his name though. It's way too close to Bielieber for comfort.

Jeff, it could be worse. I came across one "Lady Areola Fappington"

But the use of a changeable "Call sign" for each character would be good.

It's a perfectly good name. People on comms who can't figure out how to pronounce need to work on their literacy/phonics skills. I'll bet they mispronounce Ryddinjorn, Niyabainen, and Tendhyes too. (Well, actually we all do that).

Edit: I don't think a petition to change a name will work, unless they've changed the policy. The consensus on forums has always been that CCP doesn't allow name changes, so that people can't avoid bad reputations they've built up. But that's forum talk, could be wrong.

I think her call sign should be "sticky nipples."Blink

What's Jeff complaining about now?

Oh god, If I'm ever in fleet with her again, that is exactly what I will call her.

I like Jeff. Mayo is also 4 letters. Have you considered 8 letters such as Jeff Mayo or Mayo Jeff?

If you are on tonight, I can help you make your old name synonymous with your new name in the eyes of the Eve community.

No. Names have consequences.

Oh get off it and get over yourself. Eve is a stupid video game, not a Mensa entrance exam. People who are "good at Eve" aren't superior intellects, better lovers, or internet visionaries. From what I've seen on these forums most aren't even capable of constructing a coherent thought in English with proper spelling and punctuation (excluding those for whom English isn't their native language). It's time for you arrogant bittervets to get over the spreadsheets in space mentality and realize that this is a game played (in theory) for entertainment and not some Darwinian device to separate the superior from the inferior. Holy hell I can't stand Eve players sometimes.

To the OP's point, I'm afraid you're stuck with the name you chose. Why CCP is so opposed to making it possible to change a character name for a fee (with a database cross-reference to the original when searched) is beyond me. Either it's technically not possible with the byzantine game code or, they too suffer from bittervet arrogance.

When the world is running down, you make the best of what's still around.

This qualifies as stealth? I'd hate to see what blatant is. Good luck with the GM's Jeff!

At least his name isn't the German spelling of George, which is pronounced "Gay Org." While there is nothing wrong with that, (many of my closest friends are gay,) some people would find it offensive if they were called "Gay" for short, unlike people being called "Jeff," Tom," or "****," for shorter nicknames.

Count your blessings Jeff!
