Racist/Vulgar names

I put in an Eve support ticket, which now says closed, about a name that is something to the effect of SandN!GG3RSlayer


That ticket is now closed yet the player is still using that name.


If Eve chooses to allow such names in its playing environment, then I feel like an ******* for paying the 30$ for 3 months and can guarantee that's the only money Eve will get from from me.

I have to agree about the name being offensive.

I disagree with the medium that you have chosen to voice your disapproval.

If the petition was closed. Submit it again. Or at the very least check if there was any response before it was closed and then submit it again.

Your outrage on these forums is not necessarily misguided but it is certainly misplaced.

2. Not relevant, but your name ...

3. If all you're doing is registering a protest as leaving the game, that type of information is well captured in the exit survey and will have a direct impact on CCP as that is what they analyse. A forum post will end in a locked thread which will disappear off the page and be lost in the ether.

So, if you want CCPs behavior to change escalate your petition and make sure you explain why you're leaving in an exit survey.

Thank you for the advice, will do as suggested. I will try to see if I can find out how to do #1, then work on #3,

Towards #2, my name is taken from a role Christopher Walken played in a movie = Captain Koons and a watch he had to hold for friend.





To anyone questioning if this is right place to speak out on this; I ask, where should it be questioned? I looked, and saw no other valid option. -- if anyone knows of a more valid approach to speak about my subject, as post 2 did, please inform me and I will take the advice. Thank you.

also (edit) - if Eve choose to lock this thread, or delete it, and they do nothing about a name which refers to Arab peoples as sand niggers - well, I guess that will show the priority of Eve as well as the standards of Eve.

It really isn't. However, if it's going to get posted, this is the place for it.

ISD will be along shortly to have it locked. Hopefully, he can get it sorted through the proper channels.

but yes there are some pretty offencive names out there.. I know I have petitioned one or two, especially when the owner is being a arse aswell

The Eve way of resolving this would be to track him down ingame. Convince him of the error of his ways and make him open a petition to change it. Or..... grief him ingame to the point he just wants to change it to avoid the wrath of you and several hundred of like minded individuals.

Either way, he willingly changes it and you win :)

Why is the name of the german facist dictator of WW2 blocked out from forums but the word niggers is not? I find that disturbing.

In regards to OP I agree that its inappropriate and the name should be changed. However the responses are accurate and you should keep escalating until something is done. Quitting solves nothing.

Better question is why is niggers not blocked but any mention of kugu or kugutsumen was for years.

It's not just racist named people, it's also players with names like cotdeath. I know a few players have reported this guy and nothing has been done. What?

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise
