Walmart shoppers need to HTFU. Stop whining. Ganks are valid shopping conflict. They should have wore goggles. Pepper spray isn't even lethal. Entitled little carebears think they had right to the cheap loot.

Stop relying on CONCORD ffs.

5 Black Friday Myths The Media Wants You to Believe

Quote:
It seems like people are more violent on Black Friday because the national media doesn't pay attention to violence at retail stores until it happens on Black Friday. Wesley Strellis walked into a Walmart a little after noon, picked up a metal bat from the sporting goods section, carried it to electronics and methodically destroyed 29 flat screen TVs. There's the case of the 55-year-old man who punched a 72-year-old store greeter in the face for asking to see his receipt, and the guy who walked into a Walmart and pissed on a case of steaks. And who can forget the man who lit three racks of clothes on fire in the men's department when Walmart wouldn't let him return an item. There are crazy people in this world who do crazy things. Often times at Walmart. CNN didn't report on any of those stories because why would they?

This is by far the best post you've done.

And that is saying something...

They had no local.

On a serious note I am appalled that they actually let her check out after doing that. At the very least they could have waited for police to arrive before just going on.

The police need to find this criminal in my opinion like yesterday. If they don't and fail to charge her to the fullest extent of the law for abusing a DEFENSIVE device it will lead to an epidemic of abuse.

According to witnesses she was using it offensively to drive back people reaching for the game console and I even hear she used it in other departments.

Media Panic is the one true American Pastime.

There is always plenty of violence in retail chains but its always random, Black Friday often seems to guarantee something kicking off though.

So does normal Thursday but it is not reported nationally like on Black Friday.

Sometimes I think that the ban Australia has on defensive objects like pepper spray, tasers and small knives is silly, and then **** like this happens.

I think perhaps we have the right way after all.

Tasers and Knives yes but Pepper Spray should be legal.

If say you decide to use it to force people back in a department store because you want all the good deals then sure why the hell not.

Every person on in that crowd you got so much as a stain on there T-Shirt should net you with an Aggravated Assault with a Weapon Charge so you get to breath free air around the time you need dentures but it should be legal for all the people who need it.

Criminals are gonna use it anyway. People who use it in a Department Store are Criminals. Don't make it illegal for all the people who could use it.

Unlike Knives, Guns and Tasers it is Non Lethal.

Maybe, BoE is printing too. Real things will win in the end, like gold, silver, platinum, etc.

I'll argue over that particular point -- pepper spray can be lethal. There are incidents of people who have been hospitalized with anaphylactic shock after being sprayed.

I agree, though, they should have taken more strenuous action -- I mean, they just witnessed a criminal assault, fer cryin' out loud! Where the hell was store security?

I'll never forget the Swine Flu 'epidemic' the media pushed on everyone, while regular flu comes from no where every year and kills thousands. My work still has H1N1 posters in the bathrooms...

No. If you take that as 'lethal' then everything on earth is lethal. There is nothing you can name that hasn't or couldn't have killed someone with sufficient quantity and/or in some circumstance. Teddy bears are lethal. Flowers are lethal. Toys, candy, video games, forum posts are lethal, even sex is lethal by that rational.

The word would literally have no meaning, because it would apply to anything and it has no unit of measurement.

Pepper spray is not lethal.

j/k :P

But seriously, lethality doesnt come into it, the problem is violence. Give people weapons, they are more likely to commit a violent act. Lets be serious here, if she didn't have pepper spray, that lady would not have knocked everyone out with her bare fists.

I would not know anything about that. Being from Toronto I have been dead from Sars for quite a while. =/

So much this ^

Compare the deaths by people defending themselves from Tasers, Knifes and Guns compared to Pepper Spray and the difference is so far apart. Good chance if someone is attacking you they grab at you, good chance your gonna shock yourself with that Taser, Knifes often get taken right out of your hand and good chance you could kill someone innocent with a gun.

Pepper Spray in pretty much any situations will incapacitate someone with little to no lasting damage. Your more likely to cause Anaphylactic Shock by throwing a hand full of Peanuts at them.

Criminals will get the weapons anyway. Non Lethal Weapons can save live, not end them. Pass them out like candy and if someone decides to make you rub your eyes for a little while without good reason they have 5 years to reflect on why it was a bad idea.

Much better them shooting or stabbing you or breaking your jaw or nose with there fist.
