My PC is pretty much a pile of junk. Having said that I never had it crash / lock up and white screen on me prior Rubicon. The only time that this happens to me is when I am running 2 clients, when running a single client it seems to be fine.

Alt tabbing to the other client seems to really upset it and when using the starmap last night my UI windows would blink and cause the client to intermittently freeze up making the star map impossible to use. I had to fight with the client to force it back into Solar map view at which point the client was useable again.

The only reason I am mentioning this is that I am wondering if this is related to running multiple clients as like I said I have no issues when only running a single client.

This is frustrating - I personally have a GTX 580 in my machine at work - I need to double-check the driver version but I think it's the same. I just don't get these crashes.

I might be wrong, but I think every one here experiencing a crash is running two cards in different configurations of SLI on or off. Since I changed to DX9 though I haven't had a crash.

I am not running two cards. I have a single GTX 570. Switching to DX9 solves the problem for me but is clearly not an ideal solution.

I have 2x GTX 680 in SLI. I've had both video driver crashes and a strange issue where if I stop using the client, many of the windows in EVE, such as the fitting window, some chat windows etc stop rendering.

I have alternate frame rendering forced to 1 (and have tried 2 as well).

After switching to DX9, this no longer occurs. Seems to be isolated to DX11.

If you're trying to reproduce, try with the latest R331 NVidia drivers in SLI, with "prefer performance" set for power management options and use two cards from a different manufacturer.

Please PM me if you'd like some logs from my system. My profession is QA engineer for a major software company and I would be happy to facilitate an investigation from my machine.

AMD 7870 here.

Crashed when I got on grid with a moderate size fleet. Crashed and has recovered. Kept crashing when I logged in. Switched to DX9 and finally got in. Missed dread kills.

AMD 7870 here as well. Driver is crashing and then recovering. Have not been able to play all day.

Only happens with EVE. Tera, Farcry 3, War Thunder, FF XIV, Rust, all work fine. EVE is the only program that crashes the driver software.

The crash happens regularly around stargates.

Reporting same issue with AMD 6800 (single). Crashes when I'm exiting warp at a stargate. Changing to DX9 appears to be a workaround.

sorry to dig up that post, found through a google search, but in case that helps:

Same issue here with dx11, regularly crash (driver stopped responding) when exiting warp at a gate, on a single HD5870
(last time in Solitude, gate to Harner in Sarline)

TEMPORARY WORKAROUND FOR VIDEO CRASH WHEN WARPING:

I think I found a temporary workaround. I in a previous post I already mentioned that minimizing video settings helps to avoid the warp crash (for me at least). But that wasn’t really a satisfactory solution. So I started to narrow it down.

I found that disabling AA (Anti-Aliasing) solved the problem for me (tested over 1:30h with over 70 jumps over various accounts). It’s not a perfect solution but at least all other settings can stay maxed out.

Hope this helps!

I originally posted this in another thread but some people have the same issues here... This gives you another option to try besides going back to DX9.

Same issue, reverting to DX9 seems to solve the problem, crashed near every single time I warped. And as for the AA fix I would much rather use DX9 then no AA.

It's not just an Nvidia graphics issue or an SLI issue. Right now, my pilot is logged off in space. The moment I log him in and the screen loads, it causes my laptop to take a dump. This is a brand new development with the latest patch. I don't even get an error message. I just straight-up hard lock and have to reboot. I also get issues when I use a blops bridge.

I was running EVE for a few days on my HDD and I hadn't have any issue at all.
Now I re-installed it on my SSD and I ran an update to the latest nvidia driver. I started playing today and during the first fight i noticed, that there weren't any weapon sounds at all (although the music and alarms where there). Luckily, I got back to the station and then I had the blue screen as well.

I don't know if it might be related to the game being installed on an SSD? I'm playing many different games and don't have any video issue at all. It seems that it is definitely related to the game.

Can you try going back to the version of the driver you had previously?

It's unlikely the SSD has anything to do with this, although it does change timings of asset loading so I guess anything is possible.

Anyway, more details might help us track this down - hardware specs, driver versions, etc.

I just came back to EVE, literally like 30mins ago. My client crased almost immediately and consistently with every time I used ISIS. Even though I have never had problems with DX11 before (with any game) switched it to DX9 and crashes have stopped.

I have been having this same issue since Rubicon launched. I have crashed running directx 11 with 1,2 and 3 clients open, I have crashed running all three in the middle of running anoms. As well as with only one sitting in pos doing nothing.

My most recent crash was just me running scout, salvage and an alt open doing nothing. The latter 2 dropped but the first did not. Then the display driver failed after relaunching my savager but i did not lose any of my clients. The only fix I have found has been switching to directx 9 but that just seems wrong.
