What two ships would you bring? We'll have an alt scanning for us so that's not a concern. One toon can fly pretty much any sub-cap Gallente ship and the other is limited to t1 Minnie hulls but is very well trained. I'm thinking an Ishtar/Hurricane team would work pretty well but not too sure. My only PvE experience in null is stealth bomber belt ratting, I've never used a bigger ship there or tried to tackle any of the larger sites. My friend is just getting back into the game so I'd like to show him a good time, any advice is welcome.

Thanks.

Yeah, Ishtar/Cane is likely the best combo given your skill sets.

What rats you thinking of fighting? Two options really, could go Sentry/rail domi or Ishtar. Ishtar is my personal favourite (passive shield) over 1400 tank vs serpentis and doesn't need cap or ammo.. Other ship is probaly a hurricane with his limited options..

If you don't need the mobility of a cane look up a Maelstrom.

I was gonna suggest a maelstrom but from the op, he fit didn't sound to convincing about his friends skills. If he can get in a BS then go Mael.. You could even remote rep or cap transfer for harder stuff..

Don't get me wrong, my buddy is massively skilled....48m skill points, and the Maelstrom he brings to level 4 missions is stacked. I was just concerned about the prudence of roaming null with a two man fleet that isn't as experienced as it could be.

We're in Angel territory but could make the trip to Serpentis space (which would definitely be easier for my toon to handle).

Do you have access to Intel channels, if so then don't be worried. Watch Intel, watch local and kill frigs first, I dual box with a tengu and ishtar and its easy to get safe quickly.. If your worries chose cruiser hulls and get him into a t2 cruiser..

The ishtar is great tanking in serpentis and guristas so he can fly dps ship..

Forget what ships you need for now. First thing to do is get into the system you are looking at doing missions in, then scout that system properly. Also plan your route you will be taking to get to that system. All this might take a while, but better than being hunted down and podded in a matter of minutes.
Get your D-scan out and start practicing with that.

I would recommend doing some time with the OUCH guys too.
