I dont think more bigger supercaps are the answer. Now that more people are using them though, they should probably be revised and rebalanced as needed.

Keep it up, +1

actually that sounds good.

In a bit more constructive feedback to this, it was an issue that CCP talked about a while back. Powercreep proliferation. The titans were brought in expecting only a few pilots would be able to fly effectively, and no way be able to be made on mass. However, eve's unique in having so many long term devoted characters, alts, etc that the powercreep from titans is huge. CCP even mentioned (I cannot remember where) that titans are considered to be a big mistake to have added in the game.

That said, rectification? Personally, the only way to do it would be not to make something more powerful, but instead, need to look at combat mechanics as a whole. The following is only personal view, others doubtlessly will not agree, but here we go.

My opinion is the biggest drawback for fighting large ships/fleets is the lack of tactics. Sure, there are some, but really, when a massive fight consists of only a few different ships out of all eve has to offers, that is not tactics, that is rock paper scissors.

R-B had
Titans
Carriers
Super Carriers
Dreads
Dominix
Interceptors
Interdictors (and hics)

Really, for all eve has, that is not a whole lot. The other ships were just people flying what they had, and not for a tactical usage.

Also, combat worked by entire wing or fleet only command. The squad portion really is for show only, or maybe coding simplicity....

If combat was broken up for more squad on squad complex combat, it would need a much more diverse fleet setup. Example , needing HACs, to take out squads of battleships, etc. One reason I read that R-B went so long is that the balance of power wasn't known. Both thought they were winning, that is what is needed for a good fight.

How to make this squad vs squad large fleet combat work would be an enormous undertaking and combine multiple ideas. Mostly involving blob mechanic changes. that is another story though. But much like all warfare. The large ships are key, but should need to rely on their escorts more in battle.

Example, if a fleet brings 100 of a single CTA loadout, and say 20 interceptors only, and other fleet brings say 20 battleships, and 80 assorted other ships, if that other fleet flies properly, they should be able to take out the interceptors and then just destroy the 100 battleships. Battleship DPS higher, but unable to apply it effective. This would scale up to large fleet fights. 1000 on 1000, if one is mostly carriers, dreads and supercaps, the other has a much more diverse fleet, the advantage should be to a unified diverse fleet that can exploit and prevent weakness.

As apposed to Alpha past logi or switch targets...

It does? I used to teach logi to start with supression ships. Takes along time to be a valued pure DPS ship. Get em in ewar, tackle and neut early. Much less SP, their ships are disposable and easily replaced. Helps others get the win.

See my post above this one...

uhh you mean two blokcs? right? :PP

CFC, N3, PL (N3+PL are sometimes considered together, sometimes not), Rus, Proviblock (less of a unified "block" and more of a rag-tag Switzerland). So most generously, 5 blocks in fact + renters.

N3 and PL are dead. the CFC and the solar fleet control everything now. so 2 blocks.

How about rather than bigger is better, they just create a smaller ship that is designed for nothing but super cap crushing.
Pocket dread; a gun with engines attached, etc.

Something like a Tier 3 battleship that can mount dread type guns.. an upgrade of the Tier 3 BC :) with Jump drives and only useable in ls and null

... What next ??

i know everything in here is more in the line of joking. But your idea would mean that said bs would have to be to big to enter gates. Which would make all bs unable to use gates so let it be available everywhere

Don't really need this. That was CCP's first mistake: 'Oh they'll never build more than four or five........'

What Eve could use is more variety and tactics within capitals.

I would like to see corvette sized ships that bridge the gap between fighters and frigates.

How about a Nestor that can fit Dual Giga Pulse Lasers?

Will that do it ?
