Need Clarification

Hey fellas,

I need a little help or clarification on the mode "Adaptive Invulnerability Field II". Here is my questions.

1. If i fit my ship with a "Adaptive Invulnerability Field II" and it gives 30% DMG resistance across the board and my ship has a 20% DMG resistance for Thermal, is my ship then only taking 50% DMG to thermal since the other 50% is being protected by my ADI and ships skill?

2. I have a skill lvl 5 for "Thermal Shield Compensation" which gives my 25% to my thermal shield. Am I getting 25% DMG resistance to be added to my "Adaptive Invulnerablity Field II"?

3. So if all is true for the (2) questions above will i have 75% DMG resistance for Thermal then?

Thanks

1. It provides 30% of the remaining resistance. In the case below, it would be total resistance to thermal of 44%.

2. 25% bonus to shield amplifiers only. (Passive shield modules - don't require power) That means that a tech 2 thermal amplifier, which normally provides a resistance of 37.5% provides instead 46.875%. (The module is 25% more effective.)

There is also a stacking penalty which applies if you equip multiple modules affecting the same factor. (The 2nd module provides 87%, the 3rd 58%, if memory serves.) Damage controls are not effected by the stacking penalty.

Not a problem. You might try the following link for an overview of fitting. https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Fitting_ships

There are other resources as well. EVE University and battleclinic are two places to take a look at. There are a lot of questionable fits on battleclinic, its best to understand a fit you get from there before using it. Besides actual bad fits on battleclinic, there are a lot of fittings that are very situational, they might be great if you understand the intent, if you don't, they'll be horrible.

OP, keep in mind that "bad" fits abound everywhere, and that the benefit of BattleClinic's loadouts is in the discussion. There are some cookie-cutter fits you can just slap on that are suitable for PVE, but ultimately the best loadout for you compliments your own flying style and the role you'll play in your fleet.

Tbh, the vast majority of BC fits are terrible nonsense.
