I would like for the Phoenix to finally be made viable.

Too many people have fallen into the trap of being fans of battlestar galatica, trained for caldari cap ships only to waste millions of skill points. Please tell me that I am not the only one who wanted to defeat the cylons?

i'm sorry but when people say "wasted sp" it's a pretty good indicator that they're either uninformed or whining. usually both.

Tbh, I think we can all agree that the Phoenix is pretty rubbish. :P

Look at it the brigth way, it has the highest survival rate of all dreadnoughts. Probably because nobody targets it.... heared rumours that titans can speed-tank a Phoenix Dreadnought, albeit it sounds a bit exaggerated.

Also on Dreadnaughts being trained for looks, I'm sure the Naglfar crowd has it's fair share of fans too, looks like a rusted version of the Hiigari mothership from Homeworld. But at least those guys did got an improvement not too long ago.

This might be the exception that proves the rule. The pheonix is pretty awful

Actually, it's not exaggerated, anything that moves faster than about 50m/s can speedtank a phoenix. yes, that means even freighters can SPEEDtank a phoenix in siege.

Have they ever had a go at changing it in the past?

There's some talk about making it revenant again.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

I'm interested in your list of ships or mods that carriers can speedtank

Give one example in PvP where the phoenix is even mediocre. Fact is you can't, remember pvp not pvps. Maybe in this case you the person you describe in your post :/

I'm pretty sure he meant "pretty awful" not "speed tanking". In any case there is hope. CCP is gradually rebalancing all ships. They have done most of the ships in the game. Basically they have the pirate faction ships, and the blops left to rebalance before the capital ships. Which at the rate they are going it's going mean they'll likely be rebalancing caps this winter. (As I expect pirate faction ships and possibly blop to be rebalanced this summer.)

PS- Personally I've been buying up the cheapest pirate ships, and blops in hopes they will jump in price, then I'll likely roll that isk into the Phoenix, and under performing carriers. Although dreads and carriers are much more dangerous investment as they are mostly minerals in value which rise and fall independent of the usefulness of ships.

I'm Caldari in the game as well, I understand but you have to suck it up and keep training. Not all the Caldari ships are bad tho Rokh is good Ferox got a new breath of life after hybrid changes, And the well uh... OH yeah hams are beast now so yeah.

The only place you should see that phrase is in the Character Bazaar by people trying to negotiate a cheaper price. There are very few ways you can legitimately say you have wasted SP.

Give it bonuses and hardpoints for hybrids. There, fixed.

1) work out the proper role for shield caps and supers
2) make phoenix play well in that

Perhaps shields should be overall tankier (better resists, instant RR) and armor more hp to survive alpha? That way shield counter would be alpha, and armor would counter alpha. Armor counter would be raw dps.

Maybe people that want to fly Pheonixes can get together with people who want to fly Hels and have a weekly support group thread. lol

"Hi, my name is Jackka and I'm a 7 year EVE player.
I've been wanting to fly the Hel for a couple years now and I haven't lost hope yet that CCP will make these ships somewhat sensible to fly. Sometimes I want to punch Archon pilots in the face. ....."

"Welcome, Jackka. We're all glad to have you here. And YES, we all have to believe in CCP. ..."
