I have always equipped a MWD just because, but I have been going back and forth to the AB because it can run stable no prob. But as I'm waiting 3 weeks for a training queue to finish I am just trying diff. fits to see what works best. I have been ratting low-null to keep the dust from building up, and am at a loss as to which of the two I should stick with. I dodge most with either one, just need some input, thanks.

I prefer ab, for both pvp and pve. SB is paper thin, mwd means gank target can get lucky. If situation turns sour, get out, don't wait to get bubbled or pointed. SB can't brawl.

MWD if you wanna move real fast, AB if you want to speed tank something.

The MWD increases your sig radius by the same amount as your speed which in the end neither increases or decreases your chance to speed tank. Tho if you dont move at full speed or not with max angular velocity to your target (in circle around him) you will be easier to hit with the MWD on.

The AB have no negative impact and can always be used with no risk.

Personally, I prefer AB. The sig bloom on the MWD is painful on a SB. I haven't run the numbers, but it seems to me that 836m/s with 39 sig is better than 2135m/s with 234 sig (numbers taken from a Hound with prop mod but no nano/rigs). If you can be sure you won't be hit (damps or stuff like that), then MWD is likely better; but if you're going to be hit much at all, the bloom from the MWD will make you take a lot of damage from hits.

If you run into a nullsec gatecamp, one mwd cycle will enable you to gate-crash or burn out of an interdictor's bubble with a good chance of not getting caught. If a sabre or dramiel burns towards you, the cloak and once cycle of an afterburner won't be enough to escape... you'll have to be lucky in that anyone that tries to decloak you misses.

At the very least, a MWD will allow you to gate crash. It won't exactly let you continue on to your destination past a dozen dictors and interceptors, but that's better than dying.

The afterburner works great for ratting, killing other ratters, or (hahah) attacking towers.

I usually fit both and offline something like the bomb launcher for fitting purposes until it's needed. For empire space, I don't think there's a good reason to ever have the mwd.
