As an EVE noob I am constanly learning...the hard way.

What Ive found though is that every loss is a learning expereince. I enjoy hauling and mission running. When it comes to low sec, Warp Core Stabs have been my best freinds as I am only really interested in getting away and not fighting. They have their limitations though. For example, if you are overpowered by a mob of warp scrambers, you may as well hang it up.

But recently I was popped by some guy in low-sec with a single scrambler. All I could do was just sit there and watch him eat away at my shileds....waiting for the inevitable....wondering how he was doing it.

Afterward I contacted him and asked how he was able to scramble me with just 1 scrambler versus my 4 warp core stabilzers?

ME:> Hey dude. how did you scramble me with just one scrambler?

HIM> I was in heavy interdictor with scripted point. Its only ship which can tackle titans or super carriers in lowsec. No matter how many WCS you fit

ME> Ah cool. thanks, I didnt know

HIM> fly safe

That one expereince taught me tons. So my atttitude towards EVE is that every loss teaches you something new as I continue to progress in the game....one black eye at a time. Blink

Your attitude... I like it!

Glad to see you don't take losses personally but rather as a learning experience. You'll go far in EvE!

My advice is to keep learning, and don't be afraid to try new things as well.

Grrrr Good Attitudes.

Attitudes like this one really need to be nerfed. They have no place in this forum!!

Indeed. This will not stand! If people keep doing this we might en up with competent and self-reliant players! Unacceptable!

Couldn't agree more. Finally.... a smart post in General Discussion.

Every encounter I have the learning occurs at light speed...

I've fallen in with a corp that's full of helpful folks... but nothing compares to trial by fire... nothing comes even remotely close.

I've been playing since '06. I think a lot of people will agree I have no idea wtf I'm doing. None of us really do, if we're all being honest.

There are also some carebears out there who get it, this gives me at least a glimmer of hope despite the nerftastic time CCP has been having over the last year or so.

Also some people are rich enough to fit a faction scrambler that has +3 strength, just to be sure. You would have gotten away of course, unless they had 2...

Losses are pretty important learning tools without a doubt.

But so are wins. Next time you start a thread I want to see the title 'Didn't get mad, blew him up'.

Bloody good attitude! You'll go far in Eve...

It refreshing to see an attitude such as yours. +1

Big smile

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

That conversation you opened with him to ask him how he did it was exactly what you should have done.

When people open up a convo with me to politely ask me how I caught them, or did this or that, I know those people will do well in Eve. You have a long fruitful Eve career ahead of you (if you can call a game anything so substantial as a career).

That attitude is endearing, and will leave you in good stead in even the most n00b unfriendly corps around.

I agree with Tippia, people like this need to be locked up, and banned from playing or posting forever.
If we don't keep a lid on this, how are we going to raise the next generation of bittervets, trolls, complainers, whiners and general idiots?

/sarcasm

OP, welcome to Eve, it's how I started learning 4 years ago, and how I'm doing it still, one welp at a time.

So refreshing to see a new player that gets detonated, and versus screaming and crying and getting a horrid attitude - gives the attacker a ring and finds out the specifics of how he got destroyed, learns from it, and moves on with a good attitude.

You are going to go far in Eve, OP. I wish you the best.

That was how my first death went a few days ago. One minute I was looking out the window at the pretty moon next I am being washed over by a pretty blue light. Then pretty bolts of light. Then my shields collapse, then oh crap I'm not alone, and double crap they were firing on me!! Then my warp failed to work and then all I had was my sad little pod which I flew away in trailing panic behind me. It was rather exhilarating.

While I was washing the panic out of my space-underwear I messaged my helpful attacker and it was a lot like the original poster described. He told me how he did it and what to do to make sure it would at least be harder to do it to me again. He was good about it and told me so becasue I didn't whine about it.

Only while alone on the 8 jumps back to home world did I cry softly into my now clean-space underwear.

Say 'HI' before you shoot.
