He's not ********.

In fact, I would say he is the best troll I've seen in GD in a long time. All his threads get people posting even when, like this thread, they are complete and utter tosh.

My hat off to you Op, well trolled Sir, well trolled indeed.

Bah! Mithrandir should turn the trolls to stone!

No intelligent life exists in new eden then I am afraid.

Intelligent life doesn't seem to exist on this side of the wormhole either. So what else is not news.

Sumerians were human. Stop watching Ancient Aliens, it is not history and the history channel should be ashamed.

I didn't watch ancient aliens, I was looking at ancient Arabic, because it look similar to electromagnetic wave readings, I started to think that written language and the symbolism was founded on ancient knowledge, I then thought about the Sumerians religion that worships the Annunaki, and I stumbled upon that image of Jupiter, I knowing that we've only recently been able to see Saturn's north pole, and Jupiter; immediately it dawned on me It would be impossible for an ancient civilization to have such knowledge.

I just proved Ancient Alien theory correct.

Only one problem. Because of the nature of gas giants, concentric circles of clouds would not be an uncommon sight when viewing one from above or below. What if it's actually a carving of Jubiter's south pole?

Coincidentally, concentric circles, given that it's just two circles, are rather common in human art as well. I understand that it's fun to find patterns and similarities in things, but making this connection here is no different than seeing a bunny in the clouds and saying, "OMG!!! JESUS IS SHOWING ME PICTURES OF BUNNIES!!!! HE MUST EXIST!!!!!"

You can't see Jupiters poles with the naked eye.

You're right, but concentric circles are really fun to draw.

But, this particular carving is pretty easy to work out, even for an amateur. With the crescent-shaped framing, it's actually pretty clearly a depiction of the sun and the moon, a not-uncommon depiction to find amongst Sumerian carvings and other artworks.

The moon is the crescent, Jupiter is in the center, and the "sun" is subtextual, it means Jupiter rises with the sun, and jupiters "eye" is the north pole, hence the rings which correlate with the North Pole, the sun can also be viewed as the whirlpool around the eye of jupiter.

Oh? Look, I'm sure you really want to believe that, but we're talking about people who thought the world was flat. Go ahead and read the Epic of Gilgamesh, and other literature of the time. These are people that lived in a world where the only way to explain the unexplained was to make crap up and guess, hence "the god of the gaps" and all these mythologies we have lying around today. You know back in history class when they tell you the Sumerians and the Aztecs and all them were really advanced people? What they meant was, advanced for their time.

Because what it looks like to me is two concentric circles with rays of light extending from them, and a crescent moon. Please indicate what the extra bits on those circles are for if they have anything to do with Jupiter. And why Jupiter specifically? All the other gas giants, when observed from the north or south pole, have concentric rings of clouds going around.

You can look at a painting and see something only you want to see, I see the north pole of jupiter, because jupiter rises with the sun, as evidenced in the photograph I've included. You want to see something else, I don't know why you want to see something that isn't true, maybe because you're religious, maybe because you're afraid, or maybe just to troll.

Go downstairs and look at your appliances, look at your phone, do you see Saturn or Jupiter in any of the company logos? They are popular planets, which is evidenced by the Sumerians having made carvings of them. I like Whirlpool Appliances, and Samsung electronics, I also enjoy the NISSAN GT-R, but my poor friend once owned a Saturn, he traded it in.
