Implant Question...

Is +5 [insert attribute] better than +3 [insert attribute] with a secondary bonus?

I'm sure your "profession" would determine the answer. If your a Trader or Manufacturer you would spend most of your time in station and so really wouldn't need to focus as much on combat oriented skills versus say a Bounty Hunter would. In the latter's case the secondary bonus(es) would be much more helpful.

You pretty much answered your own question: it's completely circumstantial.

New pvp pilots should avoid implants completely, or at least anything over a +3 or two. With the best of intentions, new players lose pods and with them implants. Often. Yes even if you have practiced the trick.

I think the set would do you better, at great cost that really isnt worth it unless you are a cowardly station croucher.

I have the 2 pieces of the Genolution set (CA-1 & CA-2) from the Collector's Edition. Was CA-3 & CA-4 from another EVE Store special? Already installed the Genolution "Aururol" implant.

Also keep in mind that most +3 + second attribute are T2 implants like Snakes, Slaves, Nomads etc which are more expensive then the general +5 implants.

If the capsuleer has access to jump clones, E can put eir +5 learning implants in eir non-PvP clone.

If the capsuleer is new, he might do something stupid like buying a module in low-sec and then, even though he realizes it is low-sec, think "how bad can it be, that's not worth jumping into a clean clone for", try to pick it up anyway and then lose a full set of +5 implants.

Which may or may not have happened to one of my characters. Oops

But be wary if that Jump Clone is in the same location as you and your ships, as its really easy to undock in a rush in your +5's (I say from personal embarrassing experience Sad)

Honestly as a new player you're better off selling the Genolutions and buying +5s unless you are rolling in isk.
