I feel a bit stuck..and it's annoying. Whenever I "unflatten" the map, it really doesn't do any good. Whether I'm in Solar System or Star map view, I find it incredibly annoying that you can only pivot around yourself as the axis (I hope that makes sense).

It's very frustrating scrolling in and out trying to find the right angle to view what else is around or going on when your camera is stuck on you and everything else is further off in the perspective.

Is this normal and you have to just deal with it? I can't imagine in 10 yrs no one else has had this complaint or that there isn't an easier way to manipulate the map than this.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Have you tried using both the left AND right mouse buttons? You hold right click to move the map around and the left one to rotate it. Also you can right click on stars to select 'center camera' on them instead of your current location. I hope this helps. Welcome to EVE :)

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

In the solar system map, double-click an object (planet, star, gate or sig) to make that the centre around which the map rotates
